I have the same type of dsl line, you def have to resize your pics.
Hosta Pics
Those are very nice, Celeste.
The middle left and the lower right look like two I have.
But then, I'm not really sure. Mine 'came with' the house, so it's anybody's guess what they might be. But they sure are pretty in July and August.
and this is the bed that the last several reside. it is also the area where chipmucks and voles are confusing it with low income housing with in room dining.
as mentioned earlier war has been declared. there is a fail safe way to elimate the chippies which I have used for several years - dmail if interested - it is a death sentence.
for the voles the normal deterents like poison and hot pepper stuff that don't seem to work so well. suggestions? - they been doing a number on the lawn over winter as well
I like your whole garden layout
ge - thx
Very nice, Bill. Gotta get some names!
wha-I wish I had that much land! lol. The main reason I can plant as much as what I actually do, is I have no lawn. And when I say I have no lawn, I mean that as literally as it sounds! Any paths that I have are really heavy layers of mulch with stepping stones, and that's pretty much it.
The one blue hosta, the very large one, is more than likely 'Big Daddy'...I don't think it's 'Blue Angel' due to the fact that 'Blue Angel' usually has more of a pointy leaf, where the one in your pic is more rounded.
And the one pic that you think might be 'Blue Mouse Ears'...not sure...I had one, I think a combo of voles/rabbits got it, and the leaves were rounded also. That was probably the first mini/dwarf hosta that I bought, that I actually liked too!
Great gardens and pics!
thx - hem - my goal is to have no lawn - at the current rate three - fours and it will be paths as well. although the wife is starting to raise eyebrows - had to hide delivery of two jm wednesday and she is away today with two more due to arrive - it will be a race against of wife verse UPS - go brown!!
LOL Maybe you can get them planted before she comes home, sort of camoflage, where else could you hide em?
Bill:
You made me laugh this morning. I want to take a nice long stroll on your property! It's gorgeous, and you have done a wonderful landscaping job. Your wife should be proud. And, I'll even bet that she is very proud!
i don't know where thay are all going to go yet - which is typical.
Victor - i think i have most of the names for the unnamed. going out and taking the pics actually helped because i've been meaning to catalog the yard by bed and have not had the time. The bag of tags with prices i have looks like it could pay tuition for a year!!
thx candance - btw my wife is a nh girl from Troy - she likes it although doesn't understand here aaa husband - i get up at 6 on the weekends, work like hell, and come in a 7pm covered in dirt, cold beverage in hand, and walking like i'm 90 begging for a back rub.
wha-lol. The shoeboxes that I have tell the same story. In one shoe box, which holds all of the shrubs/trees that I planted...atleast 1/2 my car would be paid off, and the perennial boxes...lol...which I have as Box 1=those I've had, and lost, and Box 2-those I planted, and have no idea what happened, and then, Box 3=those I have and still have...easily could finish the car, and put a large dent into my basement finishing project. The other 2 boxes of unkown plants/trees/shrubs...oye.
