Spring Blooms - Part 10

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

Thanks Redchick ,but the Wayside Garden Center I go to isn't affiliated with the online nursery.
I must have spent $90.00 or so because the bill was $7?.00 think I bought 9 plants.
Saw some blue hosta but stopped myself.
B&D Lilies surprise box came late in the day so now I have to rip up another section of plactic and prep beds for 7 DL's. The orientals and other lilies will go in the westgarden where they get more sunlite.

I agree - that is one stunning azalea. Is that the name, Shelly - 'Canon's'?

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

I guess I could ask this question in some other thread, but you guys are too cool, too smart and good looking not to ask. Consider yourself, buttered up!
OK, I planted 2 blueberry bushes. Filled the holes with good organic soil, mulched around both of them. They have a slight incline so they should have drainage. They will get sun from around noon till the end of the day. They are protected from winds.
What if anything else should I do with them? I have never tried blueberries before.

Acid. They need acidic soil. And you need to be very fast or the birds will get them all. Patti

Thanks everyone. I agree, if I had more room I would have a hedge of them! The real name of it is definitely Deciduous Azalea "Cannon’s Double".

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks Shelly. I'll look into it.

I didn't realize how many pics I took today...sheesh. Victor-I went looking at the D30, lol, I haven't been that good this year to get that as a b-day gift, maybe xmas time. I was looking at the D300...lol...maybe if I take a photography class I can justify it. Really awesome cameras though!

Here are some of my 'Gladiators' doing their thing.

DonnieBrook, it says on the nursery tag that the Genista is hardy to Zone 4. Thrives in heat though so I picked a spot that gets full sun. The woman who owns the nursery said the blooms last about a month but the foliage itself is pretty too. I had never seen one before, this plant is new to me.
Also, I have a hardy hibiscus here in Zone 7 and its just started showing signs of life as of two weeks ago. I would hold off before officially calling it dead. I planted pansies around the base of mine to fill in the gap it leaves in the spring.

bbrookrd, I love your garden. Stunning! I love that Green Pearl Daffodil and China Town Tulip. I want to add more green flowers next year. I noticed the picture you posted of Green Pearl last year on PlantFiles was much less green. Do they mature to green or start out green and fade lighter?

Not really a bloom, but pretty and unusual anyway. I think, totally not sure, this is a cinnamon fern...again, not 100% sure, maybe 40%...atleast I know it's a fern...lol.

Where did the cinnamon Fern come from?

I like it - has color.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I found some
American Meadows
Greenwood Nursery

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

I think it's a Cinnamon Fern, too, Thom.
It sure looks healthy and well-loved.

I hope that link works.

ge-No problem at all. If you can't find it at the stores that I mentioned, there are 14 vendors that have it for sale on the DG website here!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Looks great, Thom. Yes, that's a cin fern. The D300 is the one I want - someday!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

redchic a pic of your uki at home would be great. I probably be planting mine in this weekend with four others on order.

ge1836 - look for the cin fern's on the side of the road. There are a lot of them around here. they are easy to spot rith now because they are just coming up and they do not seem to multiply like christmas and other ferns. I have a few in back and these are been pretty steady and not spreading.

Actually that does look very close to mine. The photo above was taken on a dreary day, after some rain. I'll take another on a sunny day.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

very nice everyone.... keep em coming

Jersey Shore, NJ(Zone 7a)

Sarah, I don't think the clem is Josephine. Someone else thought the same thing, but I think it is Belle of Woking. I just do not remember purchasing Belle. And with a name like that, I think I would remember the name if nothing else.
I'm fairly certain the salvia is May Night. I have nepeta in another area, and that is sprouting babies. If anyone wants some, just shoot off a d-mail. The salvia is much taller and more compact than the nepeta. It may not look as dark as I caught that shot in early morning sun.
BTW, I love your no idea Iris!!
