This is what I found yesterday in front of my Star Jasmine. How gorgeous is this?!?!?
A Little Surprise in front of my Star Jasmine
Did you plant (or toss out) an Easter Lily near by? That sure is what it looks like.
No, I didn't; I have no idea where it came from. I'd seen it coming up and left it alone; i thought it might be some kind of iris or Tiger Lily. I sure didn't think these grew well in my zone, but i was so tickled to see the blooms, i had to share.
Just an aside shekina......I used to live on Santa Rosa Island part of the summers when I was a kid......I remember Gulf Breeze....Your last stop before that long bridge if I remember correctly.....anyways brought back old memories seeing where you were from.....
Paul from Alabama
hi paul!
i've been here a year this month; came from texas. i lived in destin for the first several months.. haven't seen water prettier anywhere else in the u.s. it's stunning. you're exactly right.. i live about ten minutes or so from the pensacola bridge :)
My grandma gave me a lily just like this. She called it St. Joseph's lily.
Chris
It's an Easter Lily or more correctly Lilium longiflorum. http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/1026/
It is one of the few lilies that will grow in the Deep South. I have a hybrid of it, it has a name, but, I don't know it>
I am trying to send a picture to you of this lily, but am not very good at this. I will give it one more try.
