Stop and visit, talk all you want. Pt 22

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I like all of the bands ypu mentioned too terry. I reeeeeeaaally want to see John Mellencamp though.

(Zone 7a)

I'd like to see Mellancamp, too.

Terry, I can't find the one with Sawyer. ;-( Which one is it? If you type in Josh Holloway, you get tons of stuff. Lots of shots without his shirt. Whew! It's hot in here again. LOL

Waiting on the satelite guy to hook-up HD today. BORING! I'd rather be plant shopping. We fly out to Oregon tomorrow evening. NOT looking forward to flying but the week will be fantastic!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I would love to see Mellencamp. I'm getting so bored I want to see just about anybody. George Strait was at Alltell a couple of months ago, I wanted to go so bad but no one would spend the $80.00 to go with me. I thought $80.00 was too high, but then again he is a huge star!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

I just took June 30th thru the 4th of July off Woo Hoo!!!!

(Zone 7a)

Yea! Crissy!!!

Glenview, IL

Hey you.gals, Dancing up a Storm here!

I can't wait, never seen him and always wanted to, and the best is Free!!

(Zone 7a)

Oh, you! (pouting) Oh, well, have fun.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Rub it why don't you!!

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Oh, a local reviewer wrote a concert review on the Tim McGraw concert. I was gonna try to find it online but it was written yesterday and it's not coming up. So when I get a chance, hopefully tomorrow, I will scan it for you guys. You will get a good laugh out of it.

Glenview, IL

LOL, not meaning to rub it in, I am just a little bit excited!!

Um, might have backstage passes too....
...

Happy Summer Solctice everyone!

(Zone 7a)

Longest day of the year. Yes, it seems that way, too, cuz we're not leaving until this evening.

You have fun, Judy. Say "hi" to John for us!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh pptttthhhh to both of you, vacation, cool concerts, I get to take a week off to stay home with Dave's uncle, he's flying in from California and is staying with us for 2 weeks! UG

I got backed up into today in my new car :( The kid was driving a Dodge 3500 Diesel pulling a huge trailer and tractor w/ bush hog. Hardly any damage, just need a new hood now. Who pulls up to a stop sign then backs up?? I tried to put my car in reverse but it went into park, and I honked my horn a bunch of times but he didn't hear me. I had to get beside him on the highway and make him pull over, when I told him he just backed up into me he flipped me off, then decided to pull over. He said he didn't even know he hit me, but he stopped backing up the second his trailer hit my car. Turns out his dad's a Sheriff!

I hope you can find Tim McGraw's review, I would love to see that!

(Zone 7a)

Sounds like that guys a jerk from the start. He probably thinks that because he has cool toys, he can do anything.

Don't be jealous! I promise to have a rotten time! LOL

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oh yea, I'm sure you do plan to have a rotten time LOL!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

So I started a new thread for my newly blooming sunflowers, just fyi if any of ya'll want to take a peek at them.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Here is the review. www.kansascity.com/238/story/672407.html

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Actually he wasn't. I'd say he was about 23 years old! After he saw my damage (and he found it, I didn't see it and almost let him off the hook.) The rig is his dad's, just a big farm truck he had been bushhogging his dad's property all day, then as he was pulling out he remembered he didn't lock the back gate, then noticed he had pulled too far out into the main highway, so instead of just sitting there and let the cars slow down and drive around him, he decided to back up to get out of the way. When the first sheriff showed up I told him I just want a police report for insurance reasons. The sheriff laughed and said he can't do it, he was the kids dad. LOL Since my mom was in law enforcement I know exactly where the kid was coming from, he was hoping daddy wouldn't find out. The kid even triple checked my car by raising the hood, pulling on the front bumper to make sure it wasn't going to fall off while I was driving down the road, took dad's car to the gas station to buy me a water, just way too young.

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL That's hilarious! I don't like "My Men" like she has any, especially Tim McGraw!

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Someone's going to see Johnny and I'm not invited? We are talking about Mellencamp? hmph.

Sorry girls, was sick all day yesterday. I can't even describe it. Sort of felt dizzy, but then I wasn't. Sort of had a headache, but then again, not really. Climbed back into bed after getting up for the day, and slept till 11:00am. Just not a good day. Needless to say my plants didn't make it into the ground and no mushroom compost got spread or bed made bigger. Another hmph.

We did go to my parents today to plant some of the plants. I thought all of the plants, but when somebody (we'll call him dad for the heck of it so as not to give away his true identity) doesn't do his JOB and kill the dang weeds in the beds that are already there, well, it's sort of hard to plant in. I was able to plant about 1/2 of the north bed, but a really weird angle and so I couldn't get the tall things in. About 1/3 of the septic bed could be planted . The flagpole bed couldn't be planted at all. Too much green in there, not enough dead. Add another hmph.

Was asked if we'd be back tomorrow. To do what exactly? One more hmph.

Did a get a free supper of good 'ole fried chicken and home made onion rings. Yum.

Best for last. Phyllis was released from the hospital and is back at the nursing home, waiting to be able to go home. Not to home as in heaven, but to her house in the next town over. And this time, I was notified BEFORE any of her children were. As a matter of FACT, none of her kids answered their stupid phones when they did make the calls to them. Who wants to roll around and laugh with me?? Worst part is that I don't have a key, so I can't run over there and get anything for her. Phyllis has no key. She had a key, but somebody, she doesn't know which kid of hers took her key, but she does know that whoever it was, didn't give it back. Locksmith anyone? I did it before, me thinks I'm going to do it again! And it'll be a big 'ole HA on them! AGAIN!! I'd do another hmph, but I'm way too happy to see her at the nursing home! ☺♥

Way past my bedtime, so nighty night all!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Boy Terry, her kids are just not bright, are they. Does Phyllis feel like they were basically saying "well, she's not going to be needing this anymore." Probably not what they were thinking, just forgot with all of the commotion. Looks bad on their part though, and none of them answered their phones! How Lame! LOL That is funny! I'm glad she's doing better :)

No one likes doing anything anymore, we have more procrastinators than anything else I think, put it off until tomorrow or maybe someone else will show up and do it. Good Grief.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Crissy, I don't think her kids think. It's really as simple as that! And don't put me in that category of no one likes to do anything anymore!

Here is something I found out today and I cannot stop laughing!! I was called yesterday that Phyllis was moved back to the nursing home. So was Jo, the lady that cleans for her. This morning, I'm looking in the phone book, because I've got Jo's last name, now to just find someone with that last name in that town. I find one. Call the number, but it's her BIL and he's kind enough to give me her home phone #. I call it. Talk to her granddaughter. Jo's not there, but "papa" is. He gets on and I'm laughing, because I don't know his name, only "papa"! He tells me that Jo had to run over and unlock the door, one of Phyllis' kids in here and doesn't have a key. Who doesn't have a key, I think to myself. I call Phyllis'. phone, it just rang and rang, no one answered. I called it 3 times, let it ring about 15 times each time. O.k. Who's number do I have? Maybe it's Jean, the daughter that lives the closest over in IN, so I call her (I love Caller ID). Are you in town, I inquire? No, she says, Jim (brother) is and he's trying to find out where mom is!!! ROFLMAO!!! nanner nanner!! Now they know how it feels!! Imagine that. I knew, Jo knew. But her kids didn't know!! Then I go the nursing home and Phyllis did call one of them, they didn't pick up, so she left a message. Not sure who, don't care. She says "they're supposed to talk to each other!!!". shhh...but it would be nice if they picked up their phones too or at least listened to a message? Ya think?? Another ROFLMAO!! She tells me a key is in her purse for me. So I get her purse. Then she says, say, we should call the place for my undies. So I grab the catalog. I find her credit card and I call the number. Give the order and have them ship it here, to my house. Where when it comes in, I can launder them and mark her name on them and take them to her. Could her son, or her DIL do that? Oh of course not! They had to get home.

I found something else out too. When the "kids" said that they did the sheets and picked up? They didn't. Jo did. Jo isn't supposed to. She didn't just change and launder 4 bed linens, she also picked up and laundered 3 different adults clothing that were left on the bedroom floorS!! She's complained to her boss at the homemaker place. Her boss isn't happy. They're not supposed to and they're not hired to clean up after the grown children. But if Jo complains too much, they'll stop the service for her. So...I need to speak with a "child" (they act like children), and explain that they MUST clean up after themselves or this service that their mother needs, will quit on her. Then what is their mom going to do? My gosh, I can't believe that these "children" are so dang dense. Jo also told me that last year, the daughter from IN brought sweet corn. A ton of it. Phyllis had 29 bags of corn in her freezer. Corn was everywhere, garbage can was overflowing with husks, cobs, silk, dishes in the sink. Jo cleaned it all up. The very next week-end, the daughter came again, and again made the same mess as the week before! Jo is afraid to say anything to Phyllis, that it will upset her. So I asked her today, what is going to upset Phyllis more? Your speaking up about how wrong it is that these adults can't clean up after themselves? Or that the service she needs is being stopped? Putting it that way, made Jo realize that she has to tell Phyllis about this stuff. That that is NOT what she's there for. She is there to clean up for Phyllis. Not for adult children that can't seem to pick up their own stuff that are perfectly capable of picking up! And yet, I can't stop laughing at the sheer insanity of it all!!

This is a downer. Going to Phyllis' house, means I'm next door to the house my husband and I had built back in '82. My very first "I own this yard!" to garden on. Not a rental, not grandma's, my own land!! And garden I did. Every plant, every rock, all the mulch, all the brick, all the flagstone, the whole darn house, is ME. No one else, it's all me. I didn't design the house, but it's all ME and tells a story all it's own. From the colors on the siding and trim on the windows to the windows and doors themselves, it's all been chosen by me and a lot done by my husband and me. So, I'm standing outside talking to the DIL. I start to tell her what I'm about to do, and she interrupts me. Telling me I don't need to go inside and stand in Phyllis' family room with my binoculars to see what they've done in MY backyard, that I need to stand at MY fence and look in. And then I cried as she told me she can't believe what they're doing. Now mind you, I laughed when we went to see our house and land down in TN after we'd sold and the people took a skid steer and removed all that I had done in such a short amount of time. Stupid people was all I could think and Thank You for us being HOME now!! This is so different. My husband and I were both in our early 20's when we built this house. And I started gardening right away. Our daughter grew up in that home. That's my home. Always. And so we walked to the fence and I saw. With my own eyes. And I cried. Looking at the land in TN didn't bother me, it made me laugh. This made me cry. Like someone ripped my heart out. I don't see the bulb of my grandmothers that I missed when we moved. I would guess the age of that bulb to be roughly 65 yrs. old. And so I cried harder. Who prunes on a viburnum like that? Or a Japanese Maple (given to us by my parents as an anniversary present, planted 2 yrs. previous to our moving). I couldn't dig up everything. Things were established, I only had so much room with the mover, we didn't have anything to pot them up in that would be that large, etc. etc. Every plant under my awning is gone. Every plant on the side of the house is gone. A shrub is gone on the other side of the house. All my plants under the tree, gone. My honeysuckle, gone. Rock, where mulch should be. Who puts rock there? I'm confused and just so darn upset. I can't explain it. It defies logic why I feel as I do. I'm a sentimental fool, especially when it comes to that house. I remember when we built it. I said I'd be carried out in a pine box. But that wasn't to be. I will say this. Let's make some lemonade out of the lemons I found today. The clematis I planted the night before Phyllis' husband died, is still there. The hibiscus, planted in memory of him, is not there, but the clematis is. The crabapple, that I hunted for in 2 states and a dozen nurseries, is still there. My Japanese Maple and my White Pine, both anniversary presents, are both there. And most importantly, is that driving thru that subdivision that we called home for 21 yrs. is so run down, so falling apart. No pride in ownership (except for MY house), no matter which house or yard we looked at. And we came to our new home, to this wonderful old house that we have worked so hard to restore, to the land I've worked so hard to plant native plants in and is all looking so beautiful, is growing and thriving. And I'm happy. I'm where I belong. I miss being right next door to Phyllis. But that's o.k. My home is here now. My heart will forever be attached to that beautiful house and (not so beautiful now) yard next door to her, but this is home. This grand old lady that I love so much, will help heal my broken heart. I have Phyllis, she's not next door to me, but she's here, in town, by me now. And I have Stacy's bench to look at and remember that ole coot sitting always at that table doing something with his hands. Where he stood that very first day, as our 3 yr old just learned to walk daughter approached and ever so gently those big gruff hands of his, reached for her and lifted her oh so softly and sat her in a chair beside him. Where he leaned towards her to speak very softly and he stayed leaning in as he listened to her speak. Her speech wasn't very good, but he understood every word she said and he found love. And so did our daughter. And so did I when I walked over to retrieve her. What a beautiful memory that I will never forget. And I ramble, so I better get to bed.

CELIA!! I miss you!! Come back girl!!

Glenview, IL

Hi...Missing you too Celia.

Terry, Great news about Phyllis. Shaking my head on the kids too...
Now, was so sad to hear about your previous gardens. I would have cried to see everythings gone as well...But you do have a beautiful vision to remember and just being with Phyllis will make you feel better.

Woohoo...How about those Cubbies! Great game last night!

Oh Crissy, sorry to the kid backed into you! so glad you weren't hurt. Geesh.

Woohoo, my work day is over. On my way to dentist.
See you all later.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Sad news here today. A building in a nearby town that was almost a century old burned down. It was a flea market and crammed with stuff so they couldn't fight the fire.

www.kctv5.com/news/16687526/detail.html

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Terry, you are the one that shows up and does what everyone else procrastinates on, in other words, you save the day!! I'm the queen of procrastination, my dad's the king!

That's too funny Terry, sounds like a Seinfeld episode! "Where's Mom?" "I donno. Hey! Where's Mom!" "I donno. Who has the keys?" "I donno, you don't? I thought you did. Who has the keys then?" good grief.

I know what they are thinking, "Oh don't worry about it, Jo will get it, that's what SHE gets paid to do, we don't get paid to do it so we're not!" How old are Phyllis's kids? I have to say, they act like teenagers.

Nothing is better than memories. When my grandfather passed (mom's dad) my mom was too upset to take pictures so her niece Debbie said she'd take pictures for my mom and me. A few months after, when her mother (mom's half sister) was suing me and my mom, we asked for the pictures and one of us would make copies. Not only did she deny ever taking any pictures, they came into the house and stole almost all of the family heirlooms. So I have lots and lots of memories, just nothing to brag about. My mom has some fine china and stuff too. I'm building a family tree and I don't think I'm going to be putting that greedy clan in there!

Oh Crap, thank you seed! I need to make a dentist appt, I have 2 cavities that need to be filled! I forgot!

Oh that is terrible. what a huge loss, talk about having fond memories... I hope it was something normal and not arson.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Hey guys, so busy I never did turn on the computer last night!

Judy, yes, I have memories. But please tell my heart that that house isn't mine anymore. Or the yard. It's like John and I grew up there, that's a huge reason it hurts so much. So many memories attached to plants, it mind boggling. There's a story behind every single plant in that yard. Now in TN, I was just a mad woman, trying to create beauty where I had a blank slate. But no real attachment to the house or to the yard. I do miss the mountains and I do miss the birds that called out place home and having squirrels when we'd never had them before! Can you imagine? It's true! We lived over in that town, in that house for 21 yrs. but in that time, I only saw 2 squirrels! Ever!! It just wasn't home and it never felt like home and it wasn't home in my heart. My heart belongs here, in this town where I was born and raised. And YES!! GO CUBS!! This game isn't going too good right now though! We really need some runs!

pepper, that is sad!! I love flea markets and I love anything old!

My sister just brought me an old table with an enamel top. It has black on the bottom wood part and a drawer in the "front". Our kitchen, with all it's doorways and windows, makes it hard to have a table in there. Opening the servant stairs made it hard to place cabinets. I had a lady come from a kitchen place. I didn't know she wanted to "design" my kitchen! I can do that. I have a very good "minds eye" and sure didn't need her! She wanted to put a island in there. No way! Maybe one that moves, but a stationary one? I plan to put soft wheels on the legs of my "new" table, so I can move it around when need be. An island there, with a BIL in a wheelchair, would NOT work at all! So this table needs some wheels. I love it. The kitchen is a deep red going towards red, called Hot Apple Spice from BM (the only non historical color in the house). The counter is a laminate, but in a faux granite look in browns, golds, blacks and whites. That black bottom and the white top, along with my white cast iron sink and fridge, really looks good! I also wanted black in there, because of the counters. So the dishwasher is black, stove and over the stove micro are stainless and black. If I had known how bad SS scratches, even using a supposed SS cleaner, I never would of bought it!

YAH!!! EDMONDS JUST HIT A 3 RUN HOMER!! 7 TO 4, GO CUBS, BEAT THOSE ORIOLES!! calm down calm down..LOL☺

Crissy, the "kids" are, well 5 of them anyway, range in ages from 50-60. I'm not sure how much younger the youngest is than me. I think he's 9 yrs. younger? He'd be 38? Unless he's had a birthday, then he'd be 39. That would be my best guess.

I could cuss up a storm about them, trust me. But it's best to just say they're all a bunch of ding dongs! I just cannot believe that they think someone that is hired, thru a homemaker service for the elderly person who RESIDES there, and that elderly person they serve, has to have qualified, that that means they can take advantage of her! Jo does it because she also cares, but then because of the rules and regulations, she has to complain. I just wish she wouldn't do it. That would be the best case scenario. BUT, if she doesn't clean up? Like when whoever (a daughter) came and put up all that sweet corn and left corn all over the kitchen floor, didn't do the dishes and left the waste can overflowing with husks, silk and cobs, making it a hazard for Phyllis? That service could be sued. And I can almost guarantee that they would be sued. I know those "children". Take take take. Phyllis' lift chair was at the nursing home and because she didn't need, or want to pay while she wasn't there, her "kids" took her things home. Where did they leave her lift chair? In the garage! Who does that? Why would they do that? It isn't there now. It's in the house. Where the mice can't get into it and chew up the electrical wiring or make a nest out of the stuffing. John and I carried it in today. Jeepers.

Phyllis scared the bejeebers out of me yesterday. I got there and she was sleeping. Remember, I've seen her sleep a gazillion times before. But she was either dreaming or something was wrong. She'd start shaking and making the whole darn bed shake! Then she'd pull her hands up under her chin, they'd slide slowly down and she'd shake again. She also kept opening up her eyes, like somebody had scared her. Wide eyed she'd be. I walked down to the nurses station and they said they'd take her vitals. They also knew who I was just by my asking if I might speak to Phyllis' nurse! I have a reputation, I'm telling you! LOL Anyway, Phyllis goes to the hospital for a blood test on Fri. and they'd like someone to go with her. Phyllis told them to call ME, or tell ME when I came in that day. So on Fri., my husband will take me and I'll either ride with her if allowed, or John will drive me to the hospital for her test. Either which way, John will follow or I'll ride with him. She's also had some of her clothing come up missing, so I'm going to do her laundry. I bought a textile marker, but for some reason, in order for it to be washable, it has to be heat set first. So I have to bring all her clothing home first. Can't exactly haul my iron and ironing board to the nursing home! They (wally world) didn't have the kind I had bought to use on my grandma's clothes. They only had this kind. Another nursing home, which isn't as good (Phyllis found that out the hard way!), makes these iron on tags with persons name on it. They make them, but I don't have a clue HOW. She's holding her own, her blood sugar was perfect yesterday, so she didn't need a shot of insulin. But today it was pretty high, so she got her shot. She really wants to go home, I don't see how that's ever possible now. I just don't know.

Top of the 9th (I'm watching the game and trying to type!) and the Cubs are down by 2 runs. Come on Cubs!!!

Have to get up early tomorrow. John's dentist appointment is in the morning in a town about an hour away. Don't you love insurance and only certain doctors and dentists take your type of insurance??

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Insurance has gotten way out of hand lately. It's nuts!

I keep hoping Phyllis will get to go home, hoping hoping hoping

I was going to post some new sunflower pictures for ya'll but I forgot my camera at home :( I'll have to do it tonight.

Bosses are here, gots to go!

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Lately? Jeepers, when we lived in TN, for some reason whatever insurance the company had signed everybody up for, only worked in TN. And only paid for some of this or that and none of that! It wasn't cheap, but they didn't pay for hardly anything, so it might as well of been free!

I'm afraid to get my hopes up too high about her going home. So I concentrate on making her as comfortable as possible where she is.

I'm killing time before we have to go the dentist for John's appointment. It's a long drive, it's raining, so I'm going to go and keep him company on the drive.

Glenview, IL

Good Morning!

LOL, glad to remind you of the Dentist! Oh man my whole life as of late has been at the Dentist.

But tadah, I will be done as of tomorrow, woohoo will have some to teeth...been a real bummer but well that what i get for putting it off and blahblah blah on that. Soo all take care of your teeth!!! LOL, lecture done.

Sooo, Waving Hello to Celia, must be having a wonderful time.

Oh gosh, The game was good to listen too...Bummer they didn't win but they play the Sox again tonight, right???

OH golly, Terri, you are so sweet.

You all are, anyway I got to will be back later to post properly,

Good luck at the dentist, and careful driving in the rain!

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

The dental hygienist told my husband that he needs to come in and have his teeth cleaned every 3 months. Then he went on about what else she said and having gone thru the same exact thing, what he really needs, is root planing. Just cleaning the teeth, from the gum up every 3 months, ain't gonna cut it! He's a scardy cat though. Meow---lol☺ We drove in and out of rain the whole way. When we got there, it started pouring. Now you all know how sugar melts, so I stayed in the car till it stopped..lol.

Cubs are on Judy, are you watching? They should have 2 more games with the Orioles, then the Sox again. This time at Comiskey Park though. Oh excuse me, US Cellular Field. Can you imagine if the new owners of Wrigley change the name? Blasphemy! LOL

Oh and yep, that's me. Sweet Terry! Melts when it rains because she's made of sugar☺ I can hear my Uncle Don's retort to that as I speak!

Ran (o.k., we drove) to Phyllis' house today to get the foot rests for her wheelchair that her son didn't bring her. Now why would somebody not grab those? They were out in the garage, just like all her other belongings they brought home. I'm just glad she has no problem with asking me for things she needs now. Ever since we've been home, but not right next door, we're in the next town east, she's afraid to "bother" me. Anytime she needed something when we lived next door, I had to come to this town, so I'm not sure what the big deal was for her when we came home, but it was there nonetheless. The first time we went to the nursing home, just as we were exiting the car, an ambulance was pulling into the parking lot. My heart about sank into my feet. We managed to get in before the EMT's did, and there was Phyl, sitting in her wheelchair in the dining room! An elderly gentleman had taken a fall ;(

I have had a lot of different berries in my life. Boysenberries, strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and whatever else I'm forgetting. I've never had Mulberries before though. My sister stopped by this evening and had quart containers of Mulberries they had just picked. YUM!! She gave me 2 of the containers. I washed or rinsed them and hey're in the fridge now, getting a good chill to them. Now I need some vanilla ice cream to put them over! She's giving them away because she doesn't like them! I can't imagine. I was eating them as we were talking! They're so sweet, they don't even need any sugar on them. My mouth is watering thinking about them!

Glenview, IL

yep Terri Cubs are on...lol just watned to telll ya that.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

CUBS WIN!!! CUBS WIN!!! YAH!!! ♫Everybody loves the Cubs, every--body loves the Cubs!

Glenview, IL

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Oh My Gosh...You are so Cute, Bet you are Celebrating!!

Um, I can offer some popcorn tomorrow...hemna,hemna POPCORN, like extra butter, uh huh!
Wooho C U B B I E S!!

Fayetteville, AR(Zone 7b)

Yaaayy Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Cubs!

I have got to make a dentist appt, I have two cavities that need to be filled, I'm having problems with a crown that a dentist in CA put on (it feels loose or something) and one of my front teeth needs to be redone, and it's time for a cleaning. My mom said she has to go in and get her two front teeth built up, they are so thin she can almost see through them! Oh My!

I bet Celia is having a good time!

Here's some cool pics...

I can't wait til they're in full bloom! I just hope I don't loose some flowers in the mean time. I would love to see these all bloomed out. There's buds attached to the leaves too, but they're not even close to blooming yet, I wonder if they will!

Did you see that (Cubs) game today?? Oh my stars!! What in the blankety blank, is wrong?? Marquis seemed so off today. Heck, everybody, except the Orioles, was off today! Bah humbug! I couldn't take it anymore. Left to go see Phyllis when the score was 7 to zip. booooooooooooooo

Crissy, those sunflowers are so pretty! Are they going to make actual sunflowers for the birds to eat? I have a toad house, but no toads are in it. bah humbug!☺

I don't feel like going out to my parents and planting. Then again, if I don't get it done, those forbs sure aren't going anywhere and I have to do it sometime! First, we have to go the nursing home and I'm riding to the hospital with Phyllis to get her blood work done. Then we need to come home. I don't know what the heck the bug is downstairs, but it sure acts like a flea. Our dog has that Advantix on, and she's never in the basement, so what the heck would fleas be doing in the basement? Anyway, we're coming home to change clothes to go plant forbs and get the dog and possibly our daughter. Set the bug "bombs" and leave. Hopefully those bombs will kill off whatever they are!

Here's a funny. And I find it a ha ha funny. First, daughter #2 told me that she asked if I was called regarding her mom (Phyllis) when she was in the hospital in the ICU. Last night, daughter #3 told me she asked if I had been called. Then today, son #3 told me it was he who asked if I had been called!! Make up your minds already! LOL Then last night, I called daughter #3. I'm going on and on about what's going on and what I've done and what I'm going to do for Phyllis, and she was silent. Then I thought oh crap, she's thinking I'm bragging. So I told her I wasn't bragging, that I just wanted her to know everything and why. Then she started crying. Nobody is telling her anything (sound familiar?) and it's hurting her feelings (sound even more familiar?). So she said she was going to start calling me. I am there, every day and I know what's going on and she knows I'll tell her what's going on also. I also told this daughter about the cleaning lady and what she's complaining about. Frustration over her siblings filled her voice then. Then today, I talk to the youngest son. I told him what I had told his sister the night before. I also told him about being told that it was he who had called for the cleaning lady to clean up his siblings mess. He said he didn't. Why would he, he wanted to know? Well how the heck am I supposed to know, I only know what his oldest sister had told me! These are the only 2 (daughter 3 and son 3) out of 6, that have a good head on their shoulders. But the daughter lives in MO and this brother only lives about 1 1/2 hours away. But he's at a new job and he also teaches at night. So it's hard for him to come, because "he's so busy". I tried explaining how I work, how I think, how I operate. I'm not sure he understood. I'm sure it sounds foreign to him that it doesn't matter if things don't get done that I need to get done, his mom is much more important!! I don't know. They can keep on doing what they're doing, because I'm sure going to keep on doing what I do!

Better get to bed! I've been staying up way too late!!

Terry, I find that hilarious! They just do not communicate at all, and no one wants to fess up. Good grief, that can get confusing! Definitely keep doing what you're doing, those kids don't know if the sky is up or down.

My toad lives under the front porch I guess. I soaked him out of his home when I watered that night. There's a big one that lives around me somewhere, I can hear it croaking, it's real deep. No toads in the toad house? Don't they know what a toad house is for LOL My next door neighbor put up a wood birdhouse last year before we moved here and she went to check for birds and found a snake!

I have no idea what or how the rest of those buds on the sunflowers are going to bloom, I'm hoping the do actually bloom though! I don't even know what they're called LOL

Yay Teeth!

Got a pretty good lil thunderstorm this morning and it blew one of the sunflowers over, so I have it propped up with bricks against another sunflower, I hope it doesn't rain for a little while so they can reseat themselves. I need more dirt on them so that won't happen.
