(Zone 7a)

Looks like Heaven, Amanda. We'll miss you. But have lots of fun wherever you're going.

Tolleson, AZ(Zone 9a)

That foal is adorable! I cannot wait until we have horses again!! Well we have one that is my BIL's but he is not very exciting. I want a young one. I love how playful they are!!

(Zone 7a)

I think this is the year we get Darrell on a horse. My feet are good enough he'll have a lot of fun.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Celia, you talking about Isis falling off the back couch...my dog, an 8 yr. old long-haired Chihuahua, that weighs all of 5.5 lbs. fell off the back of our couch last week. I saw her do it and my heart stopped. That's a heck of a long fall for such a tiny dog and I kept calling her and calling and suddenly she appeared, with a slight limp. She walked it off and is now fine, but jeez that scared the blank out of me!

All this talk about horses just makes me sad ;( My first allergic reaction to anything was an allergic reaction to a horse. Eyes swelled shut, the whole nine yards. Contrary to what any doctor ever told my mom, I didn't "outgrow" the allergy. Since it was thought I'd "outgrow" the allergies (yea, more then surfaced), I never did go thru any shots for anything, so my allergies continue to this day. You know the saying about stopping and smelling the roses? Sneeze sneeze, can't breathe...not just roses. I'm not sure of them all, but I do know a few pollens that drive me crazy. Or is that crazier? LOL

We're supposed to actually hit the 70's most of this week! Yah! We brought out the pressure washer we just purchased last fall and how annoying, the dang things motor won't come on. sigh. Otherwise, nothing really new.

(Zone 7a)

Hey, Terry. I know what you mean about the allergies. Darrell has them, too. Me, not so much. Although, the last few years, I've been having small bouts of them. D takes Zyrtek every day. Even through the winter. It helps a lot. Glad you pup was okay. ☺ Isis is 19.5lbs now. Sheesh! What a fatty! LOL No wonder my back hurts.

Isis has been taking her meds with no problem. She walks a little better, now, too. Not so much with a list to the left.

Hi Kwanjin!
i just wanted you to know that i passed on your recommendation about Rainbow Gardens in Ogden Canyon to my DH (Eric) and he went there for lunch before flying home on Friday. He said it was lovely, the food was good, and he was happy to take the scenic route back to the SLC airport. (And he brought me back a jar of seedless boysenberry jam!) So, thank you so much - from both of us... ^_^

(Zone 7a)

Oh, I'm so glad he had a good time! LOL I was wondering when he was going. It is beautiful there. Did they still have the pool gift shop? It's been a few years.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Yes - it is apparently quite the complex - he brought back a brochure...

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Hi Celia, our daughter takes Fexofenadine (generic for Allegra) daily all year. Our family doctor knows all about my allergies, so instead of my own prescription, I just take the Fexofenadine on an "as needed" basis. I've had to take them 3 days in a row now. I drain down my throat, which causes lymph swelling and a sore throat, so taking those really knocks it out quickly. I remember when we moved to TN in '03, our Realtor told me that if I thought our allergies were bad up here, to just wait. Man was she right. Things grow down there that we don't have up here and it appears I'm allergic to whatever the heck it was. Krista wasn't any worse, but I sure was. I'm never bothered much in the fall, but down there? Wow. Spring was a lot more difficult also.

I'm glad Isis is better!

Hi Amy!

Where'd pepper disappear to?

Notice when it's cool and wet, then it turns sunny, not necessarily that warm, just sunny, but how the weeds pop out of nowhere? I was out today, pulling some and just looking around. Everything looks good so far! I still have a few native perennials to plant and we go the beginning of June to get the native shrubs I ordered from a place over by Joliet, IL. I'm running out of room! My dad has requested my assistance (or should I say my doing?) a nice tightly packed, long and deep row of native prairie plants to go in as you enter the timber. He also wants to rent a Cabota (sp?) to get in there and rip out a ton of invasive plants in there. My husband and I have cut out a ton, but with 3 acres, it takes a while to get them all. He's anxious now. Before it was like he had all the time in the world, but after being diagnosed with this aggressive form of bladder cancer, he's really anxious. He wants to enjoy it NOW, and I can't make the plants grow magically in a week, or a month. Or even this season. Ah well, anything to make my daddy happy☺

And just for me, because it's the anniversary of my dear aunts passing.........

Sue, I love you and I miss you. You're in my heart, always and forever.

(Zone 7a)

Amy, I told Darrel about your hubbys trip and he's wanting to go again next weekend. Did he happen to take pics? I'm sure there were lots of things starting to bloom outside and the view is wonderful.

Terry, he knows it takes time, right? I think he just wants to know that it's finished? My heart is with you in your thoughts of your aunt. I know it can be very hard.

I'm baccck!! Trip was fun but exhausting. I think I walked 20 miles over the weekend. Lots of sun plus it hit high 80s on Sat. I have pics but gotta download them.

(Zone 7a)

Oh can't wait!!!

Good morning, everyone. Off work today so going to spend LOTS of time in the garden. Seeds to put out, plants to go in, seedlings getting big. Shopping to do, as well. Darrell was all excited about a new tool for the yard. An extended handled grass clipper. Oh, the fun we have! What excitement!

Hi pepper, I thought your trip got nixed?

Celia, I would certainly hope that at age 71 he knows plants need to grow. But---it's almost like he doesn't think he's got the time? That's what I meant when I said anxious and I also meant---He said something about something else taking 10 yrs. to grow and how he doesn't have the time. So okay, I've denied he said that because it feels like maybe I'm not being told something really serious about his health.

Sue, my aunt, is the one who's 9 months and 3 days younger than me. I'm closer to her than my own sister. We pricked our fingers long long ago and smeared them together to become "blood sisters". We're related by blood, so who knows what we were thinking back then. I miss the sparkle in her eye, I miss hearing her say my name, I miss everything about her, even if she did drink too much and it ended her life way too soon. Oh to be 10 again and not have a care in the world.

John and I went to Farm and Fleet on Fri. night and bought us a new pressure washer! Tony came yesterday--- it was funny, I heard that familiar slam of the garage door and wondered why on earth John was home early from work, so I looked quickly out the window and it wasn't John, but Tony. Rolling out his pressure washer. He thinks he fixed ours, but he really had no clue what was wrong with it. The old (just purchased last fall) is a small electric one. We moved up and bought ourselves a gas powered big un! I don't much care for white vinyl siding, but I didn't pick it and we sure don't have the money to redo a big 'ole 3 story house, so it has to stay. It gets so dirty so fast, so I wash it (and the front porch too). Many times a year. Thank you Marcia and Daryl for teaching me the fine art of analness!! LOL

It's cloudy and looks like it's going to rain at any minute outside. It's also not very warm. Only in the 60's with that northern cold wind blowing. I think we're going to go from these cool days to really hot overnight. I don't remember a spring that's lasted quite this long. Our average temp is in the mid 70's, but we struggle to get into the 60's. Bizarre.

(Zone 7a)

Fine art of analness!!! ROTFLOL

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

He took pictures of the drive, snow on the mountains, etc - i'll see if he took pictures of Rainbow Gardens too...

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Oh yes, Celia, the fine art. If laundry isn't done, it's been a couple days since you last dusted, or you've got dishes in the sink, somehow, the house is going to fall in. The world as you know it will end. The world will just blow up. I tell you, it rears its ugly head in my own home every now and again. Usually I slap myself upside the head and move on. Sometimes, I swear, one or the other takes over my body and I'm not responsible for things I do. That's my story and I'm sticking to it ☺ My carpenter, who does some work every now and again for my parents (he used to work for the GC who built their house), comes here. I sometimes do something and he'll call me Marcia. That's basically him slapping me upside the head. But you see, sometimes I see him do something and I'll call him Marcia. No fun calling him Daryl, oh no, I must call him Marcia. The stories I could tell----LOL

(Zone 7a)

That's very funny, Terry!

Amy, it's fun there. I'm glad he had good time.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Terry, it was Cedar Rapids that got nixed. :~) And I sent ya an email. You should fall out of your chair when reading it. lol

Still no pics downloaded. Guess I better do that if I want iris pics. lol

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

I know Celia, I'm the hoot, remember?? LOL☺

pepper, got your e-mail and replied. Dat's all I'm gonna say.

KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Pics downloaded and now here is the first one. I call this one living art. :~)

I see a fanny pack. Your grandma taking a snooze?

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Oops, you beat me Celia!

I've been told that Celia! LOL I give, what's in your photo?

(Zone 7a)

It's a Bachelor Button that reseeded into a little wheelbarrow.

Nope. Not my grandma or a Mobot gardener. Just a visitor taking a rest. Her husband was nearby. lol

Creek in woodlamd area.

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Ah, that's why I didn't know what it was. I've seen them before---my best friend had a neighbor that had them in her garden and then my best friend had them in her garden and couldn't get rid of them for anything. So they moved (not really why they moved, but it does makes a better story!) ☺

Well, geez, that poor woman that had to take a snooze. Not sure if gardeners are allowed that, are they?

O.k. Who watches American Idol? Is it fixed? What gives? Haven't watched any season ever, but have caught a few shows this season for some reason or another. Haven't seen a show in a long time and saw the season finale on tonight. THE most boring singer ever, was the best choice according to the judges. Won hands down, according to them. Is Pop what they want? Why isn't it called "American Pop Idol" then? If David C. won, I'd seriously consider buying a C.D., IF he sticks with his Rock 'n Roll type voice. But that David A.? Yawn. Flushing the toilet over and over is the same sound too. Do I want a C.D. of a toilet flushing? Not any more than I'd ever own a C.D. by David A. That show has got to be fixed.

(Zone 7a)

The only thing I know about Idol is...David A. is from MY town. Murray, Utah is part of Salt Lake City, as is West Valley City. EVERYBODY here wants him to win. I don't care. I don't watch it.

And yes, I've heard it's fixed.

What a gorgeous creek!

No, gardener's are NOT allowed to sleep. Or if they do sleep, they must do it with they're eyes open!

Roses almost ready.

Thumbnail by kwanjin
KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

I never watch it and never intend to. Boring show and the actual singers rarelyy win.

I have bac buttons here. They are everywhere but don't mind cause I can pull them up easily.

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone. It's raining. Supposed to rain all day.

Thumbnail by kwanjin
KC Metro area, MO(Zone 6a)

Our rain will be here tonight and tomorrow. Then this weekend and possibly next week. Just got my tomatoes and peppers planted so I'm good now on plants. The rest of the peppers will go in pots. 2 red bells and 4 black beauty-ornamental and extremely hot. This says a man at work who can handle hot stuff like it's nothing. lol

Bureau County, IL(Zone 5a)

Well thank goodness! I thought for sure, I was positive that David A. would win. The one note wonder kid. How he made it to the end is beyond me. I've never watched any season, but with no energy and not feeling good, I found myself watching it every now and again this time. Not the 3 times a week or how ever often it was on, but maybe once every few weeks. I hadn't seen it for a month, or more, whenever it was they had something like 6-7 people left. I don't know, I only know it's been awhile. BUT, the good news is that David Cook won. He CAN sing and he sings great! If you like Rock 'n Roll, you'll love him! What a dream come true to stand on the stage and sing right beside the other members of ZZ Top!!! Wow. He's fantastic and I really hope to hear more of him on the Rock 'n Roll airwaves. He's got IT. The talent, the look, the moves, everything rolled up into one body, IT. Remember the scene from 'Risky Business' when Tom Cruise, only wearing a shirt and socks, comes into a room with a guitar, lip syncing to the song of Bob Seger's 'Old Time Rock and Roll'? Well, they had David Cook do it for a commercial for some guitar playing game. He was playing the part of Tom Cruise. He nailed it. A little later in the show, here comes David A. doing the same commercial. Looking the fool. He doesn't have IT, I'm sorry to say. Just this Rockers humble opinion of course..lol. So is it fixed and the REAL singers never win? Not this time, thank goodness!! ☺☺☺

Too cool and windy to do much outside. Rain is moving in for tomorrow night and into Fri., with another chance on Mon. and Tues. I do have those perennials still to plant, but I'm not sure if they'll get in until this weekend. Won't have time tomorrow and I don't have time on Fri. It's supposed to rain on Fri. anyway, so it doesn't matter if I could or not. No veggies here, my parents plant way too many for just themselves, so there's always lots to swipe from them. Wouldn't mind some Italian green beans---maybe another year. Oh! I spoke with my moms brothers wife, my Aunt Marcia (yes, another Marcia!), and she's has lots of natives that she said she's be more than happy to share with me. Now to get up near Rockford and where they live! Fun, fun!!

Have a good night all, I'm off to bed!

(Zone 7a)

I listened to both David's online for the first time today just so I coud say I heard them sing. I'm not impressed, although, I am sorry the homeboy didn't make it.

Yea! Plants in the ground! And new plants!!!

Good night, all.

OMG Celia! You're not a fan of Aerosmith, REO Speedwagon, ZZ Top, Led Zeplin, REM or any rock group? Bon Jovi? The Doobie Brothers? I am so the opposite, I'm so glad one note wonder kid didn't make it! He did a duo type song with somebody, and he sung back-up alright, but never did put himself in a lead singing role out. David A. sung a ballad by Phil Collins. But if you heard him, he never did any range in the songs themselves. Ballad after ballad. I love Phil Collins and have many CDs of his, ballads are such a small part and that man has range in the songs in the way he sings them. David A. sounded the exact same in each and every song. Only difference were the words. Elevator music is more what he sounded like. Sorry your hometown boy didn't win it. I'm surprised that his HS buddies didn't jam the phone lines with their calls. David Cook does a concert any time near me and I'm there! Love it.

Need to clean and have so many errands to run today. Just waiting for people in the house to wake up!

(Zone 7a)

Good morning, everyone.

Rain, rain, rain. I miss Oregon.

I think you might have misunderstood me, Terry. I DO like those bands, most of them, anyway, I just didn't care for the singers. AI doesn't interest me in general. Still friends? ☺

Off to work. Have a good day, all!
