Can I plant peppers like tomatoes - bury the plant so just the top leaves are showing?

I wouldn't. I plant mine the same depth they are in their original pot.

I'm no pepper expert though....corrections welcomed!

tommy2006 is right. Peppers need to be planted at the depth they are at in the pot they are raised in. Planting deep like tomatoes will cause the stem to rot.
