Does anyone know how to collect seed from flowers so that they can be planted next year? Do they come from the actual blooms that fade? Thanks!

They will form where the flowers were, but how they will look and the best way to collect them can vary depending on what plant you have. If you can tell us what flowers they are that you want to collect seeds from someone could give you some more detailed advice.
