Temp 55.0°, Wind WNW 3.3 mph, Baro 29.20↓. ☺
- Never seen a hummer around here, in San Diego they were as common as house finches. Here I put up the feeder because I like the feeder as a summer decoration, (it's designed as a hot air balloon), reminds me of the am near Pompano Beach Fla when I used to see the balloons in the sky. Haven't put it up yet, maybe I will this week...
Today's Weather in Your Garden - 20
Our hummers are here in Rhinebeck and my MIL in Maine had them too last week.
I haven't had any either.
Cloudy and cool this morning here. About 45* Feels too cool to only be a few days away from Memorial Day Weekend.
RE:the over grown tomatoes.
I have planted over rooted toms, deep into the ground to at least two or three inches befor putting in the dirt. The stems that are planted root out,Toms are like weeds.
We have 42* here this AM and a hi in the 50"s where is the warm weather?
50 degrees, winds at 0 mph (for Victor) and going to 62. Rain comes in tomorrow with more chance of rain for Wednesday and Thursday but the weekend looks great right now.
My annuals in containers are looking unhappy, cool weather here makes burgeoning plants stagnate in their growth.
Knock me in the head if I ever mention buying annuals early, even keeping them in the house for two weeks, I didn't anticipate a spring this cold.
Other new perenials are doing great. Campanula "blue falls" is beginning to creep into the Iris and ferns.
I'd love another creeping or trailing suggestion for other areas in the garden.
Anyone want to wade in?
we have bitter cold temps today, nothing over 50's and 15 mph winds.
Lets hope this is the last of it.
Looks like that on Yahoo weather and week after rainy but warmer.
I don't care I'm going to Wayside anyway, 20% off cupon burning a hole in my pocket
48 and clear skies!
ge - read the reviews on Garden Watchdog before you buy.
Temp 56.3°, Windchill 43.8°, wind 0.0 (for Victor). ☺
I finally had to block Wayside, they sent me so many E-mails it was annoying!
Thanksfor the heads up pirl.
I asked about the website special "trio of perenials at discount" The Wayside Garden Center where I went is not affiliated with Wayside Gardens online mail order.
I had my 20% off "welcome wagon " card and only bought perenials. why waste the discount on something that only lives a year, course maybe thats what I bought anyway.
Golden creeping Jenny--2
Aconitum "Snow White"--2 nice bright lights in the shade garden I think.
Heuchera "Venus"
Heuchera "Pewter ?" 2
Toad Lily "Seiryu" its a dwarf
Painted fern "Pewter Lace" oughta look good with the Ligularia
Like the rest of the gang in my neck of the woods, it's mostly cloudy, windy and very chilly here!! Right now it's 51, and that looks like it will be the high for today.
I certainly have enjoyed the evening and overnight showers that we have received lately though, and so have the gardens!!
We have a hi of 47 right now with 15-20 mph wind.
WHY did I ever think I could put plants in the ground in this weather.
My eyes are tearing up so bad I can't read labels much less judg how deep the holes are.
No more for today
It's so cold and windy we have the heat on in the house.
I've only been out 5 minutes. I'm doing laundry, 4 loads so far and 2 to go. No wonder I haven't had anything to wear. When it's nice out I'm out, and everything else waits. I could barely get through the basement, it was covered with laundry baskets, probably something I shouldn't admit to!!
Welcome to the club Debilu!!!!!
I wait til there is nothing to wear and today I dipped into my winter sweats.
Nude gardening, anyone??
Or maybe just blush?
Raining now. 51 and windy. Bummer.
The winds drove me inside. With the wind chill it's 48 and feels like a sunny day in March.
Starting to clear already. I should be back out shortly.
It's hailing now.
Anyone have locusts?
very, very windy and just starting to cloudy up 56 degrees. Doing laundry, too and writing out bills, fun, fun!
Sun's back out. See 'ya later.
You're so witty Victor! Locusts.... I'm waiting to see if there are any other plagues reported.
Crazy weather here, too. Sun, then clouds. Wind with sprinkles. Got really dark and windy. Now it's sunny again and still windy. Temperature is in the low 50s.
Very black sky in the west.
Got all plants in. Now I don't care if it rains or snows.
I'll say,Low very dark clouds like November. Snow pellets and rain. Here it comes again.
Great shot sheerie.
Reminds me I want a hummer feeder
