More May Booms!!
Way to go Susan! Great job! I love that set-up, perfect home for your beautiful plants! It looks like you still have a couple of shelves there in the middle with space for more plants!
I bet you are going to be up during the night looking at your new stand and just grinning ... I know I would!
edited to say: I wonder how long it will be before you are needing a second stand?

Yes I still have room but I want to play more with it tomorrow..I may need to lower or raise a shelf.. Now that is not easy...LOL I do know I have to move up the cuttings to go higher. I know me as I will forget them down there... I do not have my bigger AV's and my Chirita's on there yet...
Here is the second picture of the shelf top...LOL

Thanks Lin, I have to admit I am a bit stressed after working on it most of the day and still not liking where things are.. but it will pass..LOL Tomorrow is another day to play... I do love the stand... It is so big and so roomy it is nice...LOL It has very big wheels that make it very easy to move around...
Thanks,
Susan
Very nice! I see you are wicking your plants now. I had been using those self watering reservoir pots but was constantly knocking them off the stands and the plants, soil and water would be flying everywhere ... I am just such a klutz, always bumping into something, so I stopped wicking. That looks like a great set up using those plastic grids and having the wicks hang down into the tray of water. The reservoir pots take up a lot of space on the shelves so doing it your way really would be great ... so much more room on each shelf.
I thought about ordering some of those heavy weight light green trays ( I think it was Gail who uses them) ... I think she got them from Park Seed Co. But, my plan was to put gravel in the trays, add water and then sit my plants on the pebbles for the extra humidity.
I really love the chrome look of your shelf. Seems like thats what most are choosing. Makes me kind of regret my plastic shelf purchases- Too late now! I have an old iron rack sort of thing that was my MIL's that's been painted white. I have started putting lights on it now! That's where most of my babies from you are! Speaking of- Do you know what that short 'bowl' type pot plant is that you sent me? Very interesting leaves, have a different feel to them. Not sure what it is....Would love to find out!
Thanks Kim,
You are going to have to put your own shelf up as I am dead from this one today..LOLOL I had to stand on a chair just to put the shelfs on... I know the purple plant is something..LOLOLOL Hey you never know when I will show up on your door steps.. If I do I would help you with your plants... :-)
Hugs and Love my bud...

Lin That is what I did today I have those black trays and than I took pea gravel and put it on the bottom and the plants on top and water I have been doing that for a while Some of them are wicked and some are not but its pretty good and much easy to water
I realy like Sue's but that is alot of work

I use the pebbles in a tray method for humidity too! And to catch water from sloppy watering! LOL Haven't tried the wicking yet.
Oooh, I didn't even notice your stand had wheels! Wow! That really makes it nice.
My DH went to Sams today and asked if I wanted to go ... I passed thinking it would be a mad house being Saturday and they are always crowded on Saturday! Hmm ... maybe it's a good thing I didn't see your post before he went, LOL ... I might have been too tempted to get one! I don't have any room as it is. Our house is real small and cluttered! I keep saying I am going to spend a few days inside the house to de-clutter and get organized! Haven't done it yet. I seem to be outside all day every day playing in the dirt! Maybe I should start planning on the first rainy day we have to stay indoors and clean house!
Diane,
I am so brain dead I don't remember but if you could send me a picture that may help... Some of them I just did not know what they were... I have allot of unnamed plants... I am trying now to get plant with names and keep the tags on them..LOL
Ok ladies I am off to bed as I am beat...
You all have a great night...
Hugs to all,
Susan
I have a two of those metal black stands that I bought at Wal-Mart and rigged lights up to them. They aren't anywhere as big as that silver metal one Susan has though! I also have an old metal bakers rack that I wired lights to.
The lady who is president of our local AV club has one of those really expensive light stands on wheels but then she has a couple of the plastic shelves too. I have two of the white plastic shelves out in my Florida room that I use as plant stands ... never thought about trying to put lights on them.
Diane: Now I'm going to be wondering what that plant is that you have described! Can you post a photo of it? Short, bowl type plant with interesting leaves? Hmm .... I am curious as to what it is. Is it a succulent?
Susan: Post pic's of your "unknown" plants on the Plant Identification forum, or d-mail me pictures! I Love searching and trying to figure out plants!
Susan that looks Absolutely Fantastic!! Everything looks so cool on it to..
Its a strep and I thought one of you would know what it was... I think somone mentioned it the other day....Here is it again..
Oh forget it now it is on my other puter... I am off to bed as I took my sleeping pills and should be out like a light here in any min.... I also have plastic shelfs and one I took out of the basement of my husband work stand... I take what I can get... The reason I got this is because I had to cash in some bonds and told hubby that stand is MINE... THEY were MY BONDS so I got the shelf..LOL
Hugs,
susan
Susan your strep looks like Tattoo....could that be it?
