Hi all,
Newbie question about daylilies. I planted some bareroot daylilies last year and my DH put weedblock down all around them, cutting out a small hole for the plantings. They are coming up nicely now, but I am wondering -- will the weedblock keep the daylilies from multiplying? Or is that only done by dividing the rootball?
Thanks in advance for any advice!
daylilies
Daylilies multiply by spreading by the roots from the central crown. The clump will grow a little wider each year. If you reach down and pull the fabric back by 2 or 3 inches each season, that will take care of the increase each year. They do not send out long runners, just increase next to the parent.
Thank you Melody!
