Euphorbia Milli that refuses to flower!

Santa Fe, NM

It sort of bothers me. When I first got it, my Euphorbia Milli, at a local greenhouse it had cute little pink blooms on it, but they soon died away and almost a year later have refused to return. The plant is doing quite well, aside from the lack of blooming, and is slowly taking up more and more space on my plant stand. Every site I've been to says the plant is suppose to bloom year round. Mine doesn't do a thing. It gets about 5-6 hours of desert sunlight in the afternoon, gets watered every weekend, and is fertilized every few months when I remember to do it. U,...,U Any ideas as to why it might not be flowering?

When you say it's getting 5-6 hrs of desert sunlight...is that outdoor sunlight, or indoor through a window sunlight? If it's indoors, the light isn't as strong as it is outdoors so that could be it. Mine is blooming now and I don't do anything special to it, it gets watered probably about every 4 days or so (it's outdoors in a fairly small pot, so it dries out fairly quickly) and I don't think I've ever fertilized it (I've only had it for a year, I'm sure it'll get a pinch of something sometime this year!). It had some good heat exposure though over the winter which may be what made it bloom--it was in the sunniest corner of my greenhouse all winter, and daytime temps in that corner would get close to 100 on sunny days (which we have quite a few of). So if yours has been indoors, or if it's outdoors but your days are just starting to get hot, maybe it just needs a little more time. I don't know if the heat is what helped mine or not, but that and lack of fertilizer are two potential differences between your plant and mine.
