My grand daughter gave me this dahlia for moms day.
She is 19 and IN LOVE .
I have forgotten how confusing and painfull that stage is.
She talks to "grammie" about it.

What a beautiful surprise.
Moved here in July didn't kno what would come up in May.
The former owners planted these chocolate red tulips and we planted the white lily flowering and deep purple ones in October.
Different times but the "no plan" method really works

old owners allium about to bloom, and our deep purple that was planned for the purple and white iris bloom at the same time.
Guess I missed on that one.

Great shots, Shelly and Jo Ann. Shelly - the iris is Blatant.

Oh, thanks Victor. it's added to the list now. I just think that it would go/grow great in that spot.

Nice yard Jo ann. the other owners didn't do too bad with the no plan method as youcall it. I'm so glad that I don't have to mow at your place!

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Yes! The coleus place is Rosy Dawn. They list everything by sun tolerance and color, and i knew i'd seen some black - and bright pink - coleus there that can do some sun.
Thanks Kayte and Red... i will look into what you mentioned. For me it is also $ and if i can find it. i was wondering if i planted the heuchera near plants that might give a little shade, at least its roots, if that might help...

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the first ones i post are are of the neighbors house... she loves azaleas

Love the pics, no matter where they come from. Your neighbors seem to have a patriotic yard?? Or just coincidence? So in the pic of what seems to be a Hosta bed of sorts.... what is the light yellowish green hosta that you have several of? It looks like the one that i was trying to tell Jo Ann about of mine that has lots of kids around the plant bed this year.

don't really know.... they are from the same neighbor as the other photos... hers was 4 foot around... we helped her dig it up and she didn't have room for all the pieces.... so she gave them to us (yes they are all from one huge hosta)... that area is water problem for us... the hostas held it together nicely... sorry I can't be more help

edit - i will have to ask her if that was on purpose or not

lol, that's great info. I know how that goes! It helps a little since I know that the hosta that had all the babies will never be 4' around. Well.... at least not for another 30 years or so!

I'm glad you decided to keep the "northern lights" azalea! That was probably never really a question for you! :-p I just love their fragrance. If I had the space, I would have a hedge of them!

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

hey Amy... don't worry about the $... we're in it together! When people ask me how long my "wish list" is, I just tell them that it's .... "many years long!"

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

now i have to go smell it.... didn't realize it was fragrant

Very nice TB Iris Victor, striking color combo!

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

very nice Victor.... i have a few plumping up now too

(Zone 4a)

Victor does your Heuchera 'Caramel' get a lot of sun? I really like the look of it and I seen a nice one at Home Depot this weekend. However the place I have it - it would only get maybe 2 hours of full sun in the morning....do you think this would be enough?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

No, mine gets dappled sun under my weeping beech. 2 hours of direct sun should be fine.
