Plants are never 100% black and white on things like that, you're going to find slight variations from site to site and I wouldn't worry too much about it (and there's also some variability in real life). No plant is ever going to grow to exactly 25 feet tall, some plants of that species may only get to 20 ft, and some may get to 30 or 35. So to me one site saying 25 ft and one site saying 30 ft is not a difference. On the sun, again things aren't totally black and white, most plants can handle at least a small range of sun exposure so if you find one site says full sun and another says part shade, most likely it can tolerate either one. Either that or the site that says part shade is written for warmer climates--things that can handle full sun in the northern part of the country often prefer some afternoon shade in the hot South. As far as the pictures of the leaves being different, some plants have slightly different leaves at different stages in life, a young plant may look a little different than an older plant. Or a plant in the spring may have a different color leaves than in the fall. Or you might be looking at two different cultivars of the same species. Or one of the sites could have the wrong picture. We'd need to see links to the pictures in question to really be able to answer that one.

Plant.....I've asked that same question at a seminar onetime.....This guy who has written a good many books on perennials, and teaches at the University of Georgia was answering questions,....I liked what he said and it not only made me smile but kinda gave me a new insight into the lets say extended parameters that plants and their classification, habit, etc have......Simple really.....Plants can't read........:)

the gentleman that gave the talk was Allan Armitiage.....great speaker and has written some goo books on perennials....His books are not only interesting but entertaining too.....
