I say we pluck that bloom off and start again. LOL Just Joking. (No offense to the winner) I've just had such a fun time reading the thread and waiting and watching. Don't want the fun to be over.

Hey SC, I purcahsed the brug last year from our local garden club sale. It was no bigger than the cutting I sent you. I got many blooms at the end of the season. When I brough it in to winter I made all the cuttings. Sad thing is, I could have made more, but just didn't know there was such a following. Next year you will be loaded with cuttings if you want. and you should get bloom this year on the Ecuador Pink. Good luck!

Aw, shucks... Charlene, Thank you! I've already been rewarded for my kindness, many times over... ;) and I didn't expect to win, and now I've already been blessed with a kind generous offer from another ... James, your kindness has gone so much further than just a free cutting... it reminds of of "Play it forward".. There was some confusion on the date, and I love to help people nourish their passion for brugmansia, especially new growers of this tropical beauty. And with a Dave name like SCNewbie, I know it will bring her much joy! (and I bet she would share a cutting sometime IF I ever feel the Velvet Rose need) I have many brugs and, it is overwhelming at times, so I'm attempting to down-size on the huge growing-low bloom producers. When I make time (and find some energy) to work on them, I'll post cuttings for postage here on the Brug forum, I just haven't had time to do what I want to do with my plants and flowers yet this Spring. It's been a cool one with nights near freezing and everything, (including me) seems behind in comparison to years before. We are having thunderstorms today, EVERYONE have a GREAT day, no matter what.. find some good...I'm doing something plant related today and my sister is coming for a visit, it will be a wonderful day. It IS thought provoking and SO awesome how we touch one another's lives in this big world. I think we are one fun, special family here at the Brugmansia Forum in Dave's Garden.. we should all feel blessed - Group hug! ((((((((((((brug lovers at DG)))))))))))))))))) -B

This is truly a wonderful community here at DG! I've been a member at many boards for many years now, and this is the best, most friendly & helpful, and most civil board I've ever belonged to. :)) I love coming here & spend hours reading everything I can - my yard is proof of that!!

Thank you, again, AuntB! :))))))))) She most certainly will have cuttings for you anytime you want, and when she gets bigger, she'll donate some back to other members. ;)

Thank you very much, also, Pensacola! This was great! Maybe when she's big enough, I'll do the same thing!?!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

I sure miss this thread, I checked in every day, the suspense of when it will open. It's like reading a good book, suddenly you are finished and wish there were more of it..........

Aunt B,
What a gracious thing to do. All on this forum are so great. I pop in once in a while when I have a minute. So busy, like everyone else.
Good day to the Wonderful Friends here on DG

Well the color is pretty much the same as when it opened but now it is starting to go so I pollinated with some pollen from mountain magic I hope it works and I get a seed pog but who knows this was my first attempt at pollinating.

Hey Bj!!!! Yes it was fun...I started a guess the color and bloom date for newbies like me but no takers yet : )

(AnjL) Fremont, CA(Zone 9b)

wheres the thread? I wanna play!

Watertown, NY

James, next time, carefully open the bud before it opens itself and put the pollen on it. they accept pollen better that way and there is a better chance of getting to it before the bees. If you have other brugs in bloom you should tie that bloom shut once you have put the pollen on to keep those bees out too.

Nassau County, NY(Zone 7a)

Thereaglady, how do you collect the pollen from the brug? This is new to me and want to learn.Clem

Adrian, MI(Zone 5b)
