Pensacola,
I don't know if you remember me but last year as I begged for Brug cuttings You generously sent me
Many!! I now have all of them set for their first summer and hopefully first bloom!!
I will be sending you pictures...'Auntie'!! I wanted to Thank You again and tell you you are most kind and Generous!! Just the kind of Gardener that has given Daves such a great reputation!!
Your Awesome!!
Julie
It has been so much fun checking this each day and watching that bloom come to life. What a great idea pensacola - thanks!
I want to second Ems comment about how much I've enjoyed this thread and what a great idea it was. I didn't send in a guess cause I have enough brugs but I sure look forward to each new development and seeing who the final winner is!
Gosh, I took a day from my job yesterday to work at home in the yard... (it was a VERY nice day)... I thought about checking up on the bloom progress last night, but I was toooo tired to even open the computer... lol I think it WILL be today (before midnight)... (James, tighten that string up just a teeny bit, until AFTER midnight ;) Anne! I think it's YOU!
well did not see my name on last lists so no matter. congratulations to who ever won. be beautiful i'm sure.
If it's going to be me, it better hurry up. And yes, thank you very much for this thread, it's been fun.
Anne

I'll surf over and check on the weather in Pensacola today... still could be tonight, I bet it's hurrying, Anne!!! James!!?! lol (SCNewbie!!! We're still IN!) Anticipation, Anticipaaaation! Don't distract me I'm trying to send thought waves to Fl. open, open, open.......lol
Anne
roflmbo :o)
LOL well it is not fully open yet but I bet it will be tomorrow..........lol
Which is you I believe AuntB.........lol
This has been a terribly fun thread. As a gardener who only has one brug and has given away all 7 of her babies from cuttings last fall, I know how FAST the cuttings go. And from the following on this, it is QUITE obvious that there are MANY brug fans. I will keep your names on hand for when I do cut mine back. Waht surprise that would be to get a surprise gift of a named brug cutting. Makes me feel like Santa! I just hope the girl can give me enough cuttings for all of you! And should anyone want to share with me, I will take them and give them a lovign home. Here is TX we have to water them ALL the time, but the spring burst of bloom is owrth it. My Ecuador pink is about to flush and DH and I are extremely excited!
Thanks to all and especially James.
Liz.... remember mine please!! LOL.. WOW I bet that one will be a beauty... Pink is my favorite color. I have seeds just started of ecuador pink, but not even "up" yet..
James, everyone, this is great fun. Thank You! Gosh, I just picked the 23rd cause of DD's b-day... I didn't really expect it would open that day! SCNewbie! keep your fingers crossed with me. Anne, I figured those thought waves would do it. TexasLizzy, I may have some cuttings after I repot and possibly trim a bit, let me see what I can come up with.... You MUST have more brugs, Girl! And DH is excited, too?? Cool! My XBF never quite understood what all the excitement was about. (James, thanks for the update, it was quiet in the office today and... I AM anxious to see your bloom, even with all the excitement about WHEN it's going to pop.) I really really really hope if it isn't open now, it opens tomorrow! (me and SC!)
Well, like I said above we're talking about 1 more or 1 less than the about 20 that I already have. Not like I'm just starting out. When I told the dbf that I might be getting another brug, he just shook his head and walked away, lol. Poor baby, he just knew there was another plant moving party in his future.
Anne
lol I'm a beginner on Brugs. I have only 2 that *might* bloom this year, and 1 small cutting from TexasLizzy's Ecuador Pink that's hoping she'll grow into a big girl this year. lol Texas - please let me know when yours blooms & post pics, so I can show her, ok? lolololol
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, AuntB!!
Wooohoooo! Look at her shines!!! James she's a beauty. Look how perfect her form and the long 'whiskers'!!! (I bet her color too will change as the day progresses).
I'm going to balance my checkbook and see if I can squeeze Velvet Rose into my budget in the near future. lol.
Congrats to SCnewbie!!! Time for cigars! ^_^
Kim
Congrats AuntB - so beautiful!
Beautiful!!!! Congratulations To the winners!!!!!!!!!!
Well done James : )
You're gonna love Velvet Rose. She is on my top 10 list of brugs to own. She is a very heavy bloomer and does very well in direct sun even in the hotter days. I have owned her for several years and wouldn't be without this one in my collection.
Here she is just a few months ago.

If she does so well in Fla. She'd do well here for me. V.R. Ok, let me break my piggybank. lol.
Thanks ZC for the lovely pictures. Thanks James for the fun thread, congrats to Bonnie and SCnewbie the winners!
Kim
I believe AuntB won thanks to all of you for the trys..........and congrats to AuntB
Bye for now, James. Thanks again, you're a real trooper!!!
Kim
Wow - that is a beautiful bloom.....finally here after all this anticipation! And, xeriscape8321, those pictures of Velvet Rose in full bloom is unbelievable.....
I just recently acquired my first 2 brug cuttings - Georgia Peach and Modiera (sp?)...... I will have to add the Velvet Rose to my want list along with Dr Suess.
Will my cuttings bloom this year? Or will I have to wait until next year to get blooms??
Thanks for posting this James. It was awesome of you to give this away, and I have learned a lot just watching this thread.
genna
st they catch on and take off and weather conditions. Fertilize, fertilize fertilize, keep them happy and they will grow.
What type of fertilizer is recommended for them??? I have both of my cuttings in pots currently. I thought it would be best to get them a little more established before putting them in the ground.
Genna
Congratulations Aunt B, happy for you!
Dang, I only missed by 1 day. Thanks for all the fun days James.
Gloria
