I have wisteria that has started to grow on a tree and as grown into the tree, the tree is starting to lose lower branches , will the wisteria kill the tree and if so when can I prune or cut the wisteria to get it out of the tree, possibly without killing the wisteria or doing anymore damage to the tree?
WISTERIA CLIMING IN TREE
I wouldn't let wisteria climb your tree, it's a very vigorous, aggressive, and heavy vine so if you like your tree, I would cut the wisteria down. Personally I'd try to move the wisteria, otherwise you're going to have a constant battle on your hands to keep it out of the tree, plus they don't bloom at their best when they have shade so under a tree probably isn't the best place for it anyway.
