Hi, we used one of our raised beds to do starts of some roses we dug out of a homestead. Most are just canes, a few large roots. Can we plant veggies around them? it would be peppers, cukes, maybe a zuchinni...Thank you for your help...Deb

Well, it should work fine as long as you remember, those roses come fully equipped with thorns and won't be "sticks" for long. Even young one's "bite". You might consider trellising your cukes and zuchinni, they are both sprawlers. Trying to harvest those in the middle of roses could be a not fun experience. Peppers, tomatoes etc will do fine. Do plant some radishes in there as well, not only are they good to eat, but they also help draw off cuke and squash beetles. Just pull up any damaged or disease radishes and discard. They germinate so quickly it's very easy to keep a few on hand.
What great information...I appreciate it very much. I did not know that about radishes but I will definitely do that. Deb
