Some of my broccoli leaves look as if the top layer of the leaf has been eaten off, but not all the way threw. I dont see any kind of insect on them and they have been inside for most of the time. The only thing I can think of is I added potting mix with fertilizer in which I placed on top of the pot. I then forgot I added the little bit of potting soil and watered the plants with miracle grow in the water. Could this be the reason the leaves are doing this? The new leaves coming on look fine. Thanks for any replies.
Broccoli leaves look eaten
It could be sunburn. If they have been inside then suddenly placed in the hot sun without a transition period this could cause the leaves trama.
Keep an eye on the new leaves. It they continue to look good then don't worry about the damage. Broccoli is strong and should grow out of sun damage.
Now, just keep an eye out for the little green worms that will be showing up soon.
