now you made me laugh reading it back.... didn't realize it was funny when I wrote it... but it is the truth
Spring Blooms - Part 7
even better Thom
My garden is still at the "I'm glad its growing" stage. I love the pictures of established beds and I was wondering when you talk about moving things around. When you move do you have a mind picture of what you want and what does it do to the bed you move it from. I would have a hard time distrubing a growing garden after waiting so long for it to reach that state.

darn it.... i hate this thread... now i have to go look that one up Ngam

my whites bloom after my pinks too
Thankyou, I do have that one on the need list. Really pretty.
Great shots, ladies. Love the clem, the pieris and the iris. Yes, you can't be afraid to move stuff. I've mover JM's too. Last year I moved viburnums that were about 6 1/2 tall - three of them!
NIce pics everyone. Thom, love the Huechie. I had Creme Brulee which had the same coloring. Lost it though.Onewish, that clem is very bold, might have to go on the just one more clem list:)
It looks like a 'must have' for my clematis list, too.
My 'Pistachio' clematis has finally broken the soil, and it's looking rather happy.
sorry..... well i guess it's about time i got a few of you back with something i have... and you need for once
:)
the first spring we were in the house... I didn't know to prune it.... and she must have not done it for years... so i only had a few flowers on top of this dead mess... I almost trashed it... glad i read up before doing that... thank you dave's!
I bless Dave's Garden just about daily for what I have learned here. I don't think I would ever be having so much fun with plants and friends!
here here!
No worries or hurries about the sedum Victor, I am happy to know whatever about it whenever I know it. It's going to be a while before I figure out what I want to do with it anyhow. You know how it goes... beds to weed, plants to thin and divide, plants to plant, plants to move, tinkering with sprinkler systems.... Last year I acquired a camperdown Elm that weighs about 200 lbs that I'm trying to figure out how to move from where it was offloaded at (front yard) to where I'm going to plant it (somewhere in back).!
yeaah plants and gardens
I mentioned once that I wished nurseries would show the whole plant with companions so I could get an idea as to how big they actually get.
I found s nursery that does it's Lazy S'S. Trouble is you have to know what you want all plants are listen in alph. order but no teaser picture. Guess I can't have everything.
Just discovered Heliopsis loraine sunshine.
Think I might have to have one or so.
Jo Ann
Garden Crossings is good with that. Size, at least one photo, suggestions for companions, etc. Allison, are you referring to the clematis?
Jo ann, Let me look at my heliopsis. I used to have Loraine sunshine.... but I think it has reverted (not a part of the yard that I've spent much time in yet), but I have seen it blooming away over there. If it hasn't reverted you're welcome to a division of it.
Finally learned how to down size pics in mass. Here they come.
From the back deck (obviously a high deck) looking at redbud and a couple flowering crab trees and some beds that will be mulched this week end. Large Hickory that is side ways will be fire wood this winter. It comes down after mulching is done in a week or so.
Thanks redchick I would love a division.
Does the verigate leave the plant from lack of sun?
I had a verigated red stick dogwood that went native and was a big dissapointment after.
I love that deep purple lilac.
