This is for YankeeCat...sorry, but while trying to learn how to focus, I realized (too late) that I was shooting with the automatic focus on. You'll get the idea though.

Victor - My WalMart Japanese Maples made it through the winter again - not as nice as yours though. I'm not disappointed with the foliage of Black Lace - the form is a challenge.

Well I hope that does not preclude frequent watering Venu. It could get rank.

Good morning Jo Ann! Sorry that I wasn't up to answer my thoughts on your Cannas! I had to be getting up really early so I was asleep! And dang it for missing out today, the conversation was fun! And my S. black lace is beautiful! :-p especially with yellow ground covers below it. I would've said the same as victor and just added that I'm jealous because my gophers absolutely devour them (sometimes they dissapear in less than a day). Are the ones that you got Hardy? There's not many I could even try to grow here.

Hey Onewish, this is just a guess and I don't know that it matters but, i think the azalea that you have is not just one of the northen lights series, but it is the "northern lights" azalea. If what you had ordered was supposed to be yellow then whoever you ordered it from probably had mistaken northern lights (white-pinkish) for northern hi-lights (white and yellowish)??? Just a guess anyhow! Besides, you've already ordered the actual yellow one, "hi-lights", so you were really just rounding out the series! i love them all. Here's a link if you want to see if you think yours is northern lights of something else http://www.extension.umn.edu/distribution/horticulture/DG2386.html
"orchid lights" is sort of similar, but it usually has a little more lavender color to it..

Nice almond dyan, let us know if you found out the variety!

Great dark red columbine flowerjen! what kind is it?
