.....what exactly does "unauthorized propagation prohibited" mean? I am taking this as you can't sacrifice any portion of the plant to create more unless it sets it's own seeds. Is that about the jest of it?
I've got a question.....
That's something they put on plants that are patented. Patented plants are not allowed to be propagated asexually (cuttings, grafting, tissue culture, etc) without permission of the patent holder. So yes, you're correct that you can't use it for cuttings or anything. Seeds are OK since the patent only covers things that are genetically identical to that plant, and seedlings will not be identical (although in some cases they make look similar to the naked eye...but in many cases the patented plants won't come true at all from seed so you'll get something that doesn't look much like the parent plant)
Thanks for the reply....I figured there would be more. Something to the effect of if you do this don't offer them for sell in public with the cultivator's name. LOL
The reason they don't have that part is that it doesn't matter if you're selling it or not, you're not allowed to propagate patented plants asexually no matter what unless you have the permission of the patent holder. Now of course the chances of them coming to your backyard and catching you rooting cuttings for yourself and your friends are pretty small, but it's technically illegal to do so even for your own personal use.
