A - I'm drooling. I can't wait to get some of my vines blooming! Yours look wonderful! What a nice assortment you are growing out this year! :-)

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Becky, you did send me sds of the Fuji Hot Pink Frost. You also sent
Yaguruma blizzard and the lovely
pink and yellow 4 o'clocks Thank you Both of the mg's are up amd I want to plant
the 4 o'clocks this week.

A, gorgeous blooms.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Thanks Lucy! I love that yellow in the blooms of the 4 O'Clocks! I can really imagine what MGs would look like if we could cross yellow blooms with all the other colors! That would be eye candy for sure!!!

Oh good, Jackie! I was hoping I did send you some of those seeds. I can't remember what I sent everyone who got seeds from me. I don't write it down. I guess I should.

I planted 22 more seeds of different cultivars. I believe most all were I. nils.

I know y'all are probably tired of seeing my NOID cross blooms, but I just love this vine! This is the flush of blooms from today at the top of the trellis. There were more blooms below that area. One vine with so many blooms ... how does that happen! LOL!

Here are some photos of some close-up blooms from the NOID cross.

This one was a beautiful pale blue. I couldn't stop staring at it! I just love this vine! Everyday is a treat to see what the blooms will look like!

And these are some of the blooms on the back side of the vine. I am truly amazed at how different each of the blooms look. Kinda like a snowflake ... no two are alike! :-)

Antoinette - These blooms are larger than I. purpurea, but smaller than the large JMG blooms. I think the amount of blooms comes from the I. purpurea gene. The Youjiro gene just seems to put on a show every day. Still no pollen on any of the blooms! :-( I crossed them again with Kawaii pollen. I just can't let all these blooms go to waste without trying to pollinate them! I only had 1 single Kawaii bloom, so I couldn't get enough pollen for all the NOID blooms, but I sure tried! LOL!

South/Central, FL(Zone 9a)

I like it when you show the whole vine blooming, Becky. They are soooo pretty. I don't get tired of looking at them. : )

Aschaffenburg, Germany

@Becky

When you said yellow are you referring to the photo Arlain posted lasted year?

Martin

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Hi Martin! I am refering to the yellow I. nil that was created in Japan. See this link:
http://protist.i.hosei.ac.jp/Asagao/Yoneda_DB/E/DOCs/future.html

I don't believe there are any bright yellow MGs that can be crossed with I. nil at this time other than the one mentioned above in the weblink. And I don't think that vine has been released to the public yet for sale. But I don't know for sure.

Mesilla Park, NM

Oh that yellow I. nil, I wonder if it even made it into the market place? It would be fantastic to get one of those..

Here is Fuji no Monet this morning.. I took a couple of photos and that was it, it is too windy out there today.

Last one, several of the dark blue fuji flowers and Star of India and all the dark colors purples/blues are exhibiting these water stain spots and have been for about a week, don't know if it is the weather or not, making them appear like this.

Gourd, That is beautiful! My darker youjiros are showing the spots like that only they aren`t as dramatic as your Fuji No Monet. Karen

Aren't they neat.. I love these.. I haven't been hand pollinating, too much to do.. but yes, your's have those stains also, do you think it is the weather fluctuating?

Check flower pattern .12 on Dr. yoneda`s web site named decolored crest. This looks like paint drying in person and the way it illustrates the trait here matches what I see in the flowers. The "crest" they mention may refer to the wave of the petal as it comes up out of the throat and downward to the edge of the petal. The decolored spot is right at the top or crest of this curve (like the crest of a wave in the ocean)between the folds. The weather could help accentuate it because this pattern is more dramatic on some days than others but it is always there.

Becky, Love all the different looks from your new cross. Just spectacular
when many blooms are open at one time.

A, gorgeous Fuji no Monet

Karen, love the dark blue youjiro

Mesilla Park, NM

Becky, the ones from 9:43 and 9:44 pm last night, look alot like the President Bush flowers from last year, (they were not what they were supposed to be) but turned out beautiful.

I love your flowers.. you have a great climate..

Mesilla Park, NM

Karen, I'll check that site a little later on, I've got some thing I've got to do, thanks for the link.

Thanks Jackie..!!

Thanks Lucy! Glad you are enjoying the show! :-)

A - Love those Fuji no Monet! Sooooo NICE!!!

LOL! We are in different time zones. I looked to see which blooms you were talking about and there was NO 9:43 and 9:44 photos. LOL! But I think I figured out which photos you were talking about. Do you happen to have any photos of your President Bush from last year? I would like to see a couple of them.

Karen - Pretty bloom!

Jackie - Thanks! :-) :-)

Becky, no it didn't come out to what it was originally to be, Emma did ask me what I would name it and I sent her almost all the seeds, the name I gave here was "The Candidate" to keep it in the same political arena.. lol. don't know what she'll do with it.

Becky here is your yaruruma blizzard, I can understand why you can't stop taking it's photo.. It is outstanding.
