Victor,

Love the picture of the Kerria japonica. I just ordered a couple from Lazy S's after having it on my wish list for a year. Excited about getting them and hoping they do well here. Would appreciate any suggestions you have for their care.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

They're pretty care-free. Mine are in deep shade and have done very well for years. For some reason, two of them did very poorly last year as the summer went on so I cut them way back. I'll see what happens. They were doubles, unlike the one shown which is doing fine. They do develop dead branches which have to be trimmed back, but that's it. They bloom a long time and their green stems really glow in winter sun. Good luck!

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Beautiful pics everyone!!

Kershaw, SC(Zone 8b)

Here is a better pic of the yellow perennial. It is indeed a type of Aurinia...or Basket of Gold...I don't know what cult it is...and I will never post anything on the ID Forum again, those peeps can be a bit parsnickity.

Thanks Victor! I did order the double type. I feel a lot better knowing that yours is doing well in deep shade because that is where I wanted to put mine.

You're welcome mel! Good luck with it. Thom, you run into that every once in a while - really on any forum. Most of the time people are very helpful and without that attitude. Don't let it keep you from posting again.

beautiful beautiful!!!!.... azalea is huge!

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Thanks. I think it might be time for a trim for that azalea! I prefer to keep them large and natural looking though.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

the ones left from the prior owner had the middles all empty... after we trimmed they filled right in

Victor's comment - Do you grow any clematis, Dawn?

Dawn's comment - hahaha very funny Victor!! I think I do have other things in my garden - I think I do anyhow hehehe.

I am pleased to announce that my first bloom has come from a daff!!! So there.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Congrats, Dawn! Where's the pic?

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

Received my first "higher priced" DL fan today. Clothed in Glory. They don't exactly go over board on the higher priced ones. This puppy better grow.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Beautiful Thom.

Victor, I've always wanted a Myrtle, but I don't have a suitable site for one -

Marietta, NY(Zone 5a)

Dogwalker,
I've heard that Clothed in Glory is very fragrant. I tried buying one from Gilbert Wild and got something entirely different. I still want it, but haven't seen it anywhere. Where did you get yours from?

Marlborough, MA(Zone 5b)

Fragrance, I got it on Ebay, here's the info

Thank you Sara. No - no tripod.

Marietta, NY(Zone 5a)

Lovely shot of 'Marit' Victor...nice close up. I'm hoping to see more bloom around here soon but it was only 45-47 today for a high.

Thanks, Celeste.

Sara I love the color of the last one....beautiful!

Keene, NH(Zone 5a)

thanks celeste- i love primulas--i always want to have more!..
I haven't been to s. china- but not too far from there since we go to Lewiston to visit my daughter at bates, and then to a family spot in waterford every summer.. Maine is a great place.
That reminds me that some of my primroses actually come from Evermay Nuresery in Old Town, Maine- I haven't actually been there, just mail ordered- They have a very interesting collection of plants, and i can't resist trying some new ones every year.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

Very nice Sarah.... i started some primula from seed two years ago... still haven't seen a bloom yet... i am hopeful that this will be the year... my honeys mom told me they were bigger and brighter than the ones i bought for her... so i hope to see a few of my own

southern willamette , OR(Zone 7a)

nice primulas Sjms. I've have had several for a few years now, but i've never seen them bloom, thanks to some elk. I can only hope that in their mind they are as pretty as yours. If it's any consolation Pixie, we've had nearly identical high temps to yours for the last couple of weeks ( I know it's not much consolation, but I'm trying!) and we're supposed to be 2 zones warmer. My first tulip was half way open last saturday and it is exactly the same today! I thought for sure it would be open on monday, but no such luck! The only thing that I have blooming now are the things that started blooming before that last round of snow a few weeks ago.

This delphinium just came out of the house (I wanted something else in bloom!) and into the yard.

wow, lots of posts feels like I've been gone a week!
Victor-are you more careful to plant things that aren't poisonous since you have little kids? I've found a couple things I wanted then I'm like"NUTS" it's poisonous! It would have been fine if my 20 month old was more like my 5 year old, but she gets into everything!
