late last year I noticed the leaves were doing this curling thing and also had powdery mildew, so I cut of the powdery mildew section and it looked to do okay. looks to be happening again...just wanted confirmation. Any suggestions???

The powdery mildew will keep coming back as long as the leaves keep getting wet. So, since you can't do anything about the rain you might as well spray it with a multi-purpose fungicide like Daconil or Fungonil and plan on doing it about every two weeks for the rest of summer or until it doesn't recur.

Okay. Thank you, plantfreak 78! At least for now I know it is not anything that I am doing (which is some what of a relief).

The one other thing you can control is what time of day you're watering them (if they get watered via a sprinkler or hand-watered with a hose/watering can). Watering in the evening means that the leaves don't dry off quickly, and that can increase fungal problems, so morning watering is better since the sun and warmer temperatures will dry the leaves quicker. But when you live in a humid climate and you're getting rain, you can still end up with problems.
