I dont know if it is a slow grower.... i got it 6 to 7 mths back.. the leaves keep falling and i dont see any new ones taking its place...but on the bark i see many tiny bud like growth.... and when will it flower... it is magnolia grandiflora...
i need help with my magnolia
It could still suffering from transplant shock. The little buds on the bark could be new leaves forming. They aren't real fast growers either. Also, I don't know if you're in any of those areas over in Texas that are getting so much rain. Could it be getting too much water where it's planted? If it's O.K. on the water, try treating it with a little Super Thrive (Wal Mart usually sells it). I use it on all my newly planted trees and it works wonders for them.
ok ..now I think I know the prob...may be I am over watering it... I will cut down on the water ..and I had put the jobes fertilizer spikes (just one) and also gave it miracle grow last week.
thank you .....nature lover
