I planted one 6 to 7 mths ago, i dont see much growth the old leaves are faling off and I dont see any new ones taking thier place that is scary to me. is it on the way to give up on me. I see small bud like growths on the bark of the tree .... or is it waiting for the right time to break through and grow... please help. and one more last question when will it flower?
magnolia grandiflora ..is it really grand?
You can never expect too much from a plant in it's first year after planting. All of the action (hopefully) is taking place underground. It is natural for the old leaves to shed now so don't worrry about that. You might want to think about using a root stimulator if you haven't already done so to help it settle in better.
I am keeping my fingers crossed...and will wait for my first magnolia to bloom.
thanks for your advice.
I stopped over watering it and also applied root stimulater, I think the timing was perfect now I can see the tiny buds on the bark growing vigorosly and even I see new leaves.
Plant freak78.....I cant thank you enough ..
