Is there a safe to use weed killer for the vegetable garden?
weeds in vegetable garden
Boiling water and vinegar are both organic solutions, but both will also kill desirable plants so you need to be careful where you pour/spray. Vinegar is probably easier to control where it goes, with the boiling water if you take the time to pour it really carefully it probably won't be hot enough anymore to kill the weeds. Hand pulling is always an option too if things are packed in too close.
I think you'd be safer hand pulling or hoeing.
did I make a big mistake if I tilled everything in? Nothing had gone to seed yet.
It depends on what kind of weeds you had. If they had taproots, they may come back, but if they don't then you should be fine. At the very least I'm sure you got rid of some of them, and then you can handpull any that come back later on (or spray them with vinegar, etc). When I gave Daisy advice earlier, I was assuming that she already had things planted in her veggie garden, and tilling obviously isn't a very good option at that point!
fingers crossed, and at least it losened everything up!
