Hello, fellow gardeners! I have two different types of euonymus in my landscape. I believe one is an Ivory Jade and the other may be an Emerald Gaiety. I have looked these up in plant files and elsewhere online to get some info, but I'd like some first-hand feedback. Does anyone know if the "feet" of the euonymus can do damage to one's foundation or masonry? We live in an older home and have to take special measures to maintain our foundation. Would growing these next to the home pose a problem? Also, has anyone tried growing one of these up a trellis of any kind? I've never seen them grown this way but am wondering if they can be "trained" to climb one. Thanks so much for any help you can offer!
Growing Habits of Euonymus?
My euonymus always climbs up our River Birch tree. I had to pull 6' trailers off that tree last spring. So I think it will climb a trellis.
Hello, Pastime. Thanks for your reply. I think I'm going to give it a try. If it doesn't want to hold on, I guess I could always tie it up gently and coax it up the trellis! Good to hear from someone in my zone.
Does anyone know about whether or not euonymus can damage a cement block foundation or other masonry? Thanks again for any help. :)
