Rain's suggestion of a WANT thread

Portland, ME

I don't reply to dmail from you, so that makes it Ok for you to post my pics? Wrong. You know very well why I don't reply to dmail from you.

Just because my pics are "out there" doesn't give you a right to use them without my permission. Sure, it CAN be done, but it's tacky & rude. They have a "© m3rma1d" on them. If you save(d) the pics of mine--or anyone else's for that matter--it's for your private use only, not for reposting anywhere you feel like without permission.

No, my Copper Cat never "died" and I never said that. I was *close* to losing it back when we were still talking/hanging out, so I couldn't share leaves at that time (which is what I told you). Now things have happened with us and we aren't going to hang out again, nor will we be trading anything.

Do you REALLY want to get into that WHOLE story on here? I don't--it's embarrassing for both of us, so let's stop now.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

I don't know how to respond to this...I already apologized, It was not my intent to create any angry or hurt feelings, or to attempt to mend any relationships. As I still care about your well being, I will leave it at that..

Wytheville, VA

1. it's never OK to use someone's picture without permission.
2 if you do respond, please make it a private dmail
3 let's all try to be kind to each other during this christmas season.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I posted a long time ago that I don't ever care if people use my pictures as long as I don't ever see one on ebay.............Lots of people use my pictures and I am thrilled.......just don't use them on ebay or anywhere to sell plants.
Goodness, I am not the only grumpy one on the av forum this Christmas season ........just teasing........besides I said I wouldn't post until I could by more cheerful.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Been wanting to ask for a long time---What does BUMP mean?

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

It just means that it is being brought to the "front of the line" of the thread list . . .

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I wonder if there could be a sticky thread for Wants . . . Wants only - no chatting . . . that way it is easily accessible for everyone, without having to search for it.

Land of OZ, CT(Zone 6a)

Thought that might be it--took me awhile to figure it out though. Back to work for now...Thanks---OH--I like your idea for sticky.

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

Start one, Nichole , with no chatting...........just wants and trades.........

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

I WILL get those hoya cuttings to you, but it has seriously been too cold here to send them.
I still have the list posted on my cupboard at home.

Just an example.....last Friday AM was 34 below zero, and didn't even reach ZERO for a high that day!

Spring can come any day now!

I am working away on your jasmine cuttings and I have hoyas galore right now to share.

You better now make me your hero as I never grow the same thing for more than a couple of years......get bored and try something new. Propagating is my passion and right now I am hooked on streptocarpus, hoyas, aeschynanthus, orchids, morning glories and a few tropical plants like bromeliads. I tried morning glories last summer and got fired up to really grow them this year. It is now time to plant the seeds indoors.

Keep your fingers crossed for me on these morning glory attempts. I bought a book on orchids and their propagation while on the trip so that will also be one of my spring attempts.

I can't really afford to order hoyas except when I find really good buys. I found this variegated hoya kerri for 8 bucks with 3 well rooted plants in the basket on my trip.

I have 2 hoyas from trades, I really like trading. My yard is filled with plants from seeds and bulbs from all over, I really think it makes a lot of interesting too. Some plants that are not suppose to grow in my area or hard to start plants for outdoors just seem like something I want to make happen. I'm newer with the indoor plants except for the violets, I always had plants that someone gave me. I had no idea violets came in any other color except the purples that my grandma use to grow, and really well I should add!! Then when I saw all of the colors and leaves etc. I felt like a kid in a candy store!!!! And when I found this site, everyone knows so much and as so helpful, I love learning about the plants and areas and how people grow all of these things. It's a lot of work, and a lot of know how too!!

Like the cypress vine seeds I bought from Syrumani, I thought they only came in red, and she had mix of colors, Can't wait for them to be planted in the Spring!!! It's just so exciting!!!

Gessie, I have ton's of JMG seed if you are interested. JLMK.

Melanie,
I have tons of MG seeds because the MG forum people sent me some and I bought a lot from Onalee.....and Gerris, too. Syrumani and Becky sent me some, too.

I currently am not growing african violets or the leaves either............or I would be happy to share leaves..........

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Gail....just curious...are you growing any of the Japanese MGs?
If so, I'll be interested to hear how they do for you!

I had a MG phase a few years back......don't know why I gave up on them, but there must have been *some* reason!
So many beautiful choices!

Taft, TX(Zone 9a)

I bought all Japanese MGs from Onalee.........about 10 kind. I need to share some with both Becky and Nichole. Then, when they start blooming I can collect seed to share with a lot of people.

*****Melanie, keep checking under unrooted cuttings on DG Marketplace as people put good african violet leaves for sell there. They are real easy to grow. Just put half perlite and half vermiculite in a plastic solo 3 ounce cup, water them down good, put the dome on and place under your grow lights...............don't even both with them and about 6 weeks later you will start getting babies.
