Taylor Greenhouses has it at this link. I bought two plants from them that were nice and well packaged. They shipped pretty quickly too.

Thanks for the reply, I'm familiar with Taylor Greenhouses. I just recently purchased a ricinifolia from there and it's not looking too good. It's so small and fragile. I was hoping that there was another site that has larger pots. Oh well.

I've never ordered from that particular place, but a lot of the mail order nurseries sell very small plants--it keeps shipping costs lower. So I'm not sure you'll find larger ones, maybe you will but small plants are pretty typical for mail order.

Hello to all,
I just purchased a hibiscus rosa sinensis, and would very much like to get some seeds from it. Some of the blossoms have flowered and fell off. Inside the seed structure is a green ball (called the ovary). I don't want to remove the object without knowing when it is safe to retrieve the seeds? Any help would be greatly appreciated. You might start a new thread with your question, otherwise since this thread was about begonias some of the people who know a lot about hibiscus may not see it.

Many tropical hibiscus cultivars won't produce viable seeds--I've had them sometimes even form seedpods, but didn't get any seeds out of them in the end. You need to leave yours alone for now though to give the seeds (if they exist) time to ripen--the pod will turn brown eventually and that's when you can try to harvest seeds. As long as it's green, even if there are seeds in there they wouldn't be ripe yet.

Also be aware that most tropical hibiscus are hybrid cultivars and won't come true from seed, so if you want to make another plant that looks like the parent then you're best off trying cuttings instead. But if you don't care what they look like then the seeds are always a fun experiment.
