Well, difficult to follow the end of the last thread http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/836968/ with Adel's Goldfinch Rush!
Couldn't resist another picture of a male Downy Woodpecker. This feeder is probably only 4 feet from my office chair. Makes for a fun day.
DAILY PICS VOL. 98

Thank you all, I really love it and so do the birds and some other wildlife, too.
Here is the story of the Bird bath and a picture.
This is my birdbath/fountain pond. Kinda wraps it all into one. It is an old cement birdbath with a hole that runs thru it. We were helping friends move and they weren't going to take it with them, it was sitting in the yard when they bought the house a good 10 years or more before and they never used it, so I brought it home. I knew just what I wanted and my very handy son made it for me as a Christmas present a few years ago. It's a concrete well approx 3 ft deep and 5 ft wide. He poured it with a pedestal in the center to sit my birdbath on. We put a pump in the bottom of the well and ran flexible pipe thru the well pedestal and the birdbath pedestal. He installed an underground electric line with a switch that is mounted on the side of the patio so I can turn it on and off if I want. The fountain is just enough to break the surface not disturb the birds and then the water runs over the edge and back into the well. I put a piece of driftwood in the bowl for the birds to perch on.
Wow...that is really cool HollyAnn and how nice of your son to put it all together for you. I would just love love love something like that set up!! Thanks for sharing and telling us how it all came about...it is a great story. I'll bet you get tons of birds visiting!! Lucky you!
That is a beautiful setup Holly!
Rose, Great pics!
Images of what is thought to be a Rufous/Anna's cross at Skinners Butte, Eugene, Oregon.

How nice of your son, to make you something so beautiful, Holly. Wish I had someone handy like him to finish the pond. Do you think, he'd be willing to give me a hand? Need muscles work really, for rocks. ;)
