I make it 22 Am. Goldfinches, plus 2 Pine Siskins, in that pic!

Did a recount - made it 24 this time!

Lots of exciting NEWs for people. Congrats everybody! I learned something new today. This woodpecker was making an incredible racket, drumming on the open-sided feeder. I didn't know what it was - Resin executed the ID - Yellow Bellied Sapsucker.

Wow, its amazing how many American Goldfinch you have!

Klamath River, CA

This is the first time I've seen more than a couple of American Goldfinch at a time. I've always had a lot of Lesser Goldfinch.

Very soon:

*** Mrs Ed will be starting the new Daily Pics***

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

The Goldfinches must passing through Adel, I had a tree full some time back. I have a nesting pair now, makes me wonder if they drop a pair off on each stop!

Wonderful pics everyone else!

The sun in the last two days has had me out taking lots of pics, but more bees etc than birds. I got a Goldfinch which landed on a pile of rubbish, I saw it taking it's nesting material across the road into a dense tree after picking up grass roots again.

adelbertcat: Those aren't goldfinches. They are redpolls in goldfinch disguise. Either that or you have the best thistle seed in town!!!
