This little Song Sparrow wanted to get some attention by singing away beside me while I was taking shots of the Geese.
Doesn't he/she look miserable in the wind :)

Oh SO COOL PC!!!! Such great pics!!!

Thanks so much for posting them!!! Their beautiful birds!

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

Pied billed grebe near by in the water. Rather noisy these little guys

The Pied -billed Grebe is adorable! Sorry I interrupted you.

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

Ooops, got mixed up and this Junco was near to the Geese.
Btw the pied billed grebe was the biggest challenge to get a shot of, that little bugger always dove under the water to pop up way off some seconds later. Took me often some time to find him again and until I aimed the camera was gone under with me cursing. Anyways after about one hour of trying I finally got some reasonable shots :)

Thank Pelle and no problem :)

Southeastern, CT(Zone 6a)

That whole snow goose series was hilarious! Thank you.

Lots of great shots today, gang. I love coming here.

Celaya, Mexico(Zone 10a)

Personally I like this shot of the Grebe best, it kind of shows how difficult it can be to spot them.

Dellrose.....Sibley shows our area as right on the line between winter range and summer. I've only seen them in the summer and fall.

Marlton, NJ

The Snow Goose series was hysterical w/ your commentary!

I can definitely see how the Grebes would be hard to photograph.

Do you mind telling us what equipment you were using to shoot these pics with?

Great pics Panamon and loved the commentary on the Snow Geese!

Adel...thanks for the pics of the Golden crowned Sparrow. I looked it up and they are not in this area at all! This will probably be the only one I'll ever see!

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

I saw my first ever Indigo Bunting today! I was so excited. My parents are visiting and my mom and I were talking on the patio and there he was. Of course, I didn't have my camera, and he only stayed long enough for me to identify him. Rose, I completely understand your excitement. I'm just dying to see this guy again! I enjoyed your pictures as always.

Adel, that golden-crowned sparrow is just beautiful.
PanamonCreel, love the Snow Geese!
GP, loved the Prairie Warbler shot. It's very artsy!
GG, I agree that the male grackles with their blue heads can be pretty. Starlings are pretty too. It's just too bad they're so nasty.

I really enjoyed all the photos. Thanks for sharing.

Burn I am so happy to see ground and sun in your pics. You are getting some wonderful birds now...thanks for the pics!

Elphaba!! Wow...I am so happy for you! Now you will be looking for that little guy everywhere you go in your yard! His color is something else isn't it!! I keep looking for the females but if I've seen one I don't know it!!

Gardenpom...I know the Painted's show up in our area and if I ever see one I would have to post the announcement in CAPS!!

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Thanks everyone, it feels so goooooooood to see the snow go away. And see the new arrivals also. I might be a bit early, but I put out the Hummingbird feeder already. but then May is just a few days away. Can't wait
Elphaba so happy for you, on your sighting of the Indigo Bunting. Hope he comes back for you.

Beachwood, NJ(Zone 6b)

Ditto!!!

A little bit better pic of the Piglets. The pic doesn't show the ones on the ground and the ones on the limb holding the sack feeder (at least a dozen more waiting their turn)
