Hello Everyone!
I'm becoming an avid gardner and absolutly love the look of English Daisies! I tried them a few years ago when I had no concept of gardening and I think I did something wrong. I bought two Tasso Strawberries and Cream and would love to keep them alive, Any suggestions would be wonderful, i have not planted them yet! I'm in zone 5.
Thanks Y' all
English Daisy, will this be hard to maintain
We had an English daisy when I was growing up (Ottawa valley, maybe zone 4-5?) and it did fine being completely ignored after planting. Enjoy your daisies!
If I were you and in your zone, I would wait just a bit longer before putting the new plants outside just yet, if they are small plants, for the first year, dont let late night frost destroy the foliage or the tender roots, you could pot them into slightly larger pots and keep them in good light under cover at night and outside in daytime till they get used to the temps, but for sure early May would be good for planting them into the garden if all dangers of frost have passed, there after, they could stay outside and covered with a mulch to keep them through the winter time, they are normally hardy tough plants really. So good luck. WeeNel.
