While nosing around my shade garden today I found a deposit of brick red granules interspersed with blue granules to form an oval clump about 1 inch wide and 1.5 inches long. I'd say the granules were about half the size of tapioca (so quite small), but not transparent like tapioca. The clump was nestled amongst the mulch and on top of the soil.
I didn't get a photo because I was heading out the door at the time and by the time I got back it was too dark. The weather doesn't look like it'll permit me to get a pic until maybe Sunday when all the rain we're supposed to get finally lets up.
Based on the description, has anyone seen this before? Does anyone know what it is? I didn't want to remove it on the off chance that it might be the eggs of something beneficial.
Identification help - Clump of...eggs?
I have no clue but you have my curiosity up! I hope you are able to get a picture.
Sheri
I suspect we're going to need the picture!
