Post your spring photos - blooms, foliage or whatever.
Here's forsythia.
Spring Blooms - Part 4
I'm thinking there is a cultural divide here that is leaving me less botanically educated than the rest. You go off to special nurseries and buy named specimens, lovingly tend them and mark them with labels. Down here the neighbor enjoins us to come dig up that "stuff" that's taking up the yard. I've got "stuff" all over the place. Maybe that's why my specimens would qualify as DG laughing stocks. Ditch lillies, ordinary iris, Cherokee roses, etc. But, I'm trying to learn how to use a camera and hope you folks will guide me when I can share.
Laurel
OK Victor, Beautiful. Now do you have advice?
On what, Laurel?
Primrose.... got my new zoom lens today (tax back present).... if you want to see some of my messing around shots

On photography, of course, Victor. You're waaay too young to give me advice on anything else I'd be interested in...ROFL.
L
P.S. I have always signed my emails to friends "L". Never seen the "L" word thing/TV? Enlighten me please. Is it about lesbians? I'm for choice. Should this be a DMail?
Very nice, Allison. Cute doggie shots!
love my pups
Yes, L, that's what it's about, but probably a good idea not to pursue it! Do you have a digital camera?
I hear music, Al!!
Yes Victor, but I am just learning to use a digital camera. Don't know if I can do "L" photos and the garden with the same lens. Would one be better with close up and one with wide angle? Just a beginner here. Please advise. I don't have an "L" at the moment either. Can I still be on this forum?
Does the camera have a 'macro' setting? That's best for close-ups.
Euphorbia. I have it. Forgot the variety.
E. cyparissias.

Thanks, Victor. It has taken over a couple of flowerbeds including the one in the photo which is supposed to be Monarda.
It spreads like wildfire, though I like it where I have it.
I like it too, but have never known it as anything but "graveyard grass", which is why I couldn't find it anywhere since it is commonly called "graveyard moss".
Mine is very old, came from my Granddad's home in the mountains. Suddenly it is everywhere!
Message from beyond??
from beyond? could be, you never know.
Very nice. It's still light there?!!
Dark now, was light till about 30 min ago.
Laurel, the L word and choice are fine in my book. No need to leave. Please stay. You're very entertaining. Besides, I want to stay in your cabin at Maypop. WooHoo!
Yes it does have a macro Victor (I had to ask). However, I am just learning to use the auto feature. I'm sure things will be better when I discover the manual (lol).

Best advice with digital - just play and take lots of photos. Try all the settings and see what you get! Other piece of advice for good photos - try different angles and different lighting.
I hope someday I have room for flowering trees..... the only thing that we have is that darn tulip tree.... the thing is so huge can't even enjoy the flowers... who can see up that high... and it just makes a huge mess all season... actually almost every season but winter
nice Hem.... I hope we are going to be on part 5 by next week
Nice Thom. Trees are wonderful, Allison. Don't wait too long - you want to enjoy them while still young!
Beautiful, Anita.
Thanks Victor - I'm trying to keep up with you!
