Sunflowers!

What is the best environment to put sunflowers?

I see them all the time on the sides of the highways where I live (Minnesota).

Do they need full sun, or is shade ok?

They do want to be in full sun, shade will not be a good place for them. Do you have a nice sunny spot for them?

ecrane is right, they want as much sun as possible. I did grow some that got morning shade last year, and they were MUCH smaller than the ones receiving all day sun.

Yes, I have a lot of areas in our yard that get a lot of sun for most of the day. I'm lucky!
