Cedarnest/Nancy! Congrat's on the Biggest Loser Prize! Woo Hoo ... this was a fun game!
I think I'm going to have to sit out the games for the next couple of months. Hubby is off and we are going to be visiting family around Florida and I'm hoping to go to Georgia to visit my sister one week. We will be taking the boat out a lot while my DH is off work too. We always take one of our laptops with us when we are gone, so I know I will be able to check in once in awhile, but it's going to be a busy summer and I'm not sure how much time I will have to be computering!
BINGO TIME FOR APRIL!!!!!
Kim, let's pretend neither one of us volunteered.................I have to go see grandchildren's recitals, the av sale, make 100 zip lock bags of hygiene products and socks for the homeless mission work at the church..........I haven't even gone to buy the products yet and I just remembered I am going on the van for two nights in a row..........
You are having major surgery whether you realize it or not (LOL).........ladies with hysterectomies are not up and playing on the computer for a few or more days..........
Well......look what happens when my back is turned.....ya'll go and finish the game. And didn't even save me a prize....!
Congratulations to all the winners! And with Kimber hosting the next one it's BOUND to be a hoot! Can't wait!
Lin, IF you come to Georgia, you MUST come see me!!!
Oh my goodness..I am the Biggest Loser!?!?! LOL...never thought I would be happy shouting that out for the world to hear.....Thanks Everyone....
Janet thanks for the Great Fun Bingo Game and a Special thanks also to your lovely card holder Kim..It was a blast!!
Kim..If Gail can't hold the cards for you next month I would be happy to!!
Congratulations to all our Bingo Winners!! What a fun game! A big THANK YOU to Janet and to Kim for card-holding, also.
I didn't get to holler Bingo, but I had a wonderful evening. If you read yesterday's Arbor Day article, you'll know it was our 10th anniversary. We had a low-key but very sweet celebration. After my being in Pittsburgh (my folks needed a little extra help) all week, it was nice just to be home together! We went out for dinner, then cuddled up on the couch and watched "Enchanted." Oh, brilliant! If you haven't seen it yet, *run* out to the video store and rent it this weekend. :-)
it sounds like maybe Kim & Gail are our Bingo game team for June rather than May?
I will be happy to hold cards for May if someone will host.
I don't know who picked my prize but if you let me know where you want it I will gladly send it...LOL
Sue
Janet, I am so sorry about speaking up too soon. May is just too hard this year. I still want to give a prize..............if May materializes into a game, just holler at me.........
After careful consideration, I think I better wait to hostess a game until after the surgery and recovery as I don't want to let everyone down by not being on and able to call. I'm not sure when my surgery will be but I know it will stress me out to think that I will be at the hospital and not here at home calling bingo calls.
I'm sorry but maybe next month things will be a little less up in the air for me.
It sounds like May is going to be a difficult month for everyone, are there even enough players?
Kim
Darn I just got to come on line and see it is all over. Congrats to all the winners.
I'm not going any where...I don't get vacations or anything LOL so I 'm in if we do a game
I never get a vacation so I can be here.
I am sure we can get a game going!
Nice Gail ... I have one or two identical to that! I love those pots. I have not read the instructions and am wondering if it is okay to plant right in the top pot? I have always over the years just sat my little potted plant down in there and filled the bottom pot with water ... the unglazed bottom of the top pot draws up water and keeps the plants moist.
Wal-Mart now has two sizes of those pots, a small one that holds a 4" pot nicely that sells for @ $4.98 and a larger one that sells for @ $6.98 if I'm remembering correctly.
I will be curious to hear how you like them!
When I was at the violet ladies' house in Victoria, Jo was planting these up for a client and she was potting directly into the pot. I watched and took lessons. So, evidently you just pot them up like any violet only you use this pot.
Oh Gail, I'm SO happy for you! How cute is that?
Dimmer, what a thoughtful way to send the gift certificate! What a great prize.
Thank you to everyone who donated for the April Bingo, it sure was alot of fun ladies :)
Kim
I always wondered about that! LOL .... well I have quite a few of these that the plant (in a plastic pot) has just been sitting down inside! I am not even going to think about the work of repotting right now! But, I will get it done some time over the summer! They seem to be okay so I will not have to worry right now. I know I read somewhere I think on DG once where there was a discussion about these pots and some did not like them for some reason. I think someone said the capillary action quits working after awhile and you have to use vinegar and water to clean the pots or some such ... may have heard that from someone in the local club ... this would be a good subject for a new thread! I would love input from folks who have used these for a long time!
I've read that when the water deposits start building up and it quits working properly you can even put them in the dishwasher to clean them!
Yes you do normally plant them directly in the top part. But as I've said before the best thing to remember to not put too much water inthe bottom half. If the water level is too high, it keeps the plant too moist.
I have some but they aren't as pretty as that one Gail! Great choice Dimmer! Where I work we sell the glazed pottery self-watering pots but they're all plain. Pretty colors some times but no design!
hmmm ... and I am always looking for plain white ones with absolutely no design or picture on them. I have found two I think at Wal-Mart but most of the time all they ever have are the ones with flowers on them, which are pretty ... it's just that I think it's distracting sometimes to have a beautiful blooming plant in a pot with flowery design. I have probably 15 with flower designs and I turn them sideways so the white sides of the pot show when the plants are blooming! LOL.
I have been dancing around the house since getting back from the post office..Looks at the wonderful *Biggest Loser* Prize our dear Makshi sent me..Makes me feel like the Biggest Winner of all ! I love it Makshi. All the pots I have now I need to completely remove the insert to add water....I Love this..the design is perfect!!I have wanted a self watering pot where you just need to add water through holes in the top..I can never find them around here so it is my 1st...also thank you for the bright pink christmas cactus cuttings....which reminds me I think I promised you some easter cactus cuttings awhile back?,lol...better get busy and send you some :o thanks again Makshi..I really Love being a loser..((Hugs))
