Hey ladies, I know we can't change the rules now, but I think in honor of the donations made that the vendors should have to be vendors of gesneriads. We are an African Violet bingo group afterall. We don't have to discuss it now but I know in the past that people have requested garden seeds from people who donated money.

Now I have to go back and mark my winners!

*********edited to say I always stick my foot in my mouth...........that is very nice of Dimmer to donate a gift certificate at Walmart or Lowes. I am talking about professional vendors of other plants than gesneriads................sorry, Dimmer!

Good, I'm glad that's settled.

I have been telling myself that I wouldn't get any more AVs until I felt more accomplished with the ones I already own... I think that's all about to change. So many of these plants are really pretty. I might just have to track down some of these plants in the near future. Rob's Whatever, "Michael" Angelo, Fredette's Sweet "Jenny", and a few others here are certainly high on my list.

I agree with Gail ... Sassy Jewel is a jewel of a violet! I have that one on my card ... chose it in honor of a cat we had years ago originally named Sassy but ended up being called Crazy Cat! LOL. My niece had a cat named Sassy at one time too.

The Ace hardware in Sinton is selling out to retire and I just spend a small fortune in there . I went for one sided razor blades to use on my plants. Everything was on sale. They had these great looking hanging baskets with coco fiber lined in them and 3 black chains with the black hook for 3.99 each. Stayed in there an hour buying 'stuff' on sale.

Oooh Gail ... whatcha gonna plant in your new baskets? Pictures, Pictures ... we wanna see pictures!

I love those wrought iron type baskets with the coco fiber liners. I have a few and just had to replace a couple of the liners recently ... they were worn almost completely through!

Ooh, gotta love bargains like that! Seems to me I've seen replacement liners for those made of something that doesn't wear out... maybe that recycled rubber stuff? I've also heard people recommend using a (clean) disposable diaper to line the inside of those planters so they don't dry out as fast, but I just like adding polymer moisture crystals to my potting mix instead, and I put an extra pinch in the bottom of hanging baskets.

MYother coco lined baskets are staying too dry..........good idea Critter. I am going to go back and put a pamper at the bottom of each one!! Yeah..........I haven't unloaded the car (been taking a nap) but I will show you how cute they are with a picture later.

The owners are retiring and have already sold the store. The chinese lady who owned it is dying to start growing african violets with me. She always comes over about 3 months apart to buy blooming african violets for the ladies in her church.
We may have a new violet club member before long. She is a doll and about a size 2 (probably not that big).

Lou's son-in-law and Daddy to be...lol I think this is the first pull that had two in the same immediate family...that is pretty amazing too. Very sweet young man, he and his wife "Laura" are both grammer school teachers!

Okay, someone tell me what the flower on Lou is called? Is there a special name for the speckled flowers?

Well, I am sure there are some that only need one or two...at least I would THINK there were...lol With only eight left to call...I am planning on being done by Sunday...I will call a few bonus calls between now and then as well as the regular calls. So it should be getting interesting in the next day or so.

If there are some of you that are NOT online over the weekends, let me know and I will hold off "finishing up" until Monday...but if not then I will be making more calls to get done by Sunday evening.

and my sprint comes to a grinding halt..lol...I never had either of todays calls....but they sure are pretty..could get lost in those blooms....Hey Janet how about todays bomus call a little early?? Oh goodness........I'm at work until 3:00 and I left the cards at home (silly me) so I won't be able to confirm until after 3:00 today but I know there are a couple close ones........OOOOH it's gonna get exciting around here soon :)
