Thanks Imzadi. I need to start this one to re-stock my seed supply. D-mail
me in late summer and let me know if you want seeds. Should have plenty
by then. :~)

I don't have anything this year yet, but will add my Fuji no Sora.. I like these for some reason they just look down right nice. I was looking for a photo and I guess this is the only one I took of this one.

Very pretty A. Two completely different looks from our blooms. Makes me
wonder if mine is really no sora.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

WOW! That's quite a take on the Fuji no Sora! The ones I grew looked just like Jackie's photo! Both are such a calm shade of blue. Very, very pretty blooms that both of you posted! :-)

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

they both are pretty.

Mesilla Park, NM

I found two more photos.. there is a lighter version, and the one I have is the Lt. Blue version of no Sora. There is also that really dark blue (I think it is Chiaki) I have to double check on the Dark Blue it almost looks a deep purplish. I'm hoping that one I have growing now is dark blue or purple.

A, a great photo. I think a few members had mentioned the blue or PURPLE
no soraI and I didn't have a clue. That one does look purple in above pic.
Someone had sent me a few seeds labeled no sora and I planted one last yr
I think it looked more like yours A, the pretty light blue. I do remember
comparing the two and thinking they looked a lot alike in person.
Pics of both types were sent in last yr. Some looking just like Becky's and mine and some looking identical to your bloom A.. Now it strikes me as funny that no
one mentioned the difference last yr. lol
A mystery to me for sure.

Gourd, how big is the bloom on the Sora?

Dorothy

Mesilla Park, NM

I think the bloom might have been at least five inches across, it was not a small flower.

Houma, LA

Gourd, those are such beautiful blooms and the larger the better. I am impatiently awaiting my first "large bloom" morning glory to bloom. My Blue Silk has several buds but none of them have opened yet. All of your pictures are so beautiful. I find myself sitting, staring and drooling over them.

I'm awaiting my morning glories & moonflower; they're just seedlings. When can I expect to actually see blooms? Do cuttings work w/these? If so, would anyone be able to help out w/cuttings? For trade or postage? Michelle

Mesilla Park, NM

Dorothy,
I know what you mean about waiting for them to bloom.. me too.. Thanks for the compliments.

Michelle, I've not tried cuttings on the I. nils so can't tell you if they will root or not. I think there is some info on the Sticky up there on cuttings. I did cut/pinch all the tips on my mgs but never have given it any thought to rooting them. There is really no space here anyway for cuttings.

if either of you two want some seeds for the Lt. Blue and Lt. Pink Fuji no Sora and Fuji no Momo.. I have enough for both of you, send your request in a plain white envelope, with 3 stamps to me. I'm in the address exchange. I will supply the bubble envelop going back to you so the seeds don't get crushed.. PLEASE write on your envelope what I am to send, cuz i have lots of stuff to mail out.

My FIRST mg flower... for 2008

Okay, so I cheated..lol..

was cleaning the old birdhouse gourds and usually I just give a good coat of wax, but, I thought, maybe I'd paint something on them...

This was one of the prints Beth put on here last year sometime, I couldn't print the whole thing, but got enough to go by..

It is not finished, I just started awhile ago this morning and need to put alot of touch up and then seal it.

This is a new hybrid... Fuji no murasaki no sora..lol I'll probably outline it in gold or black..not too sure, but I better hurry, there is a nest inside it from two years ago.. and it's gotta go outside with the others.

That's great! I just tried using a wood burner on some of my gourds to outline and it worked.

Mesilla Park, NM

Oh I should try the woodburning!!.. i've got some of the laser burners (fine tips) and a woodburning kit.. I'm really behind in alot of the work that I need to burn/design on the wooden doors outside that are connected to the rockwalls. Hopefully in a couple of weeks the weather will be great for that. (I may just take that out today and try some on the rest of the birdhouse gourds). The birds are trying to use the barn swallow nests, so I've got to hurry up.

I would love to see your photos beth.. did you post any on the gourd forum, or ?? Some of mine will be big Chickens for outside..

scio, oregon, OR(Zone 8a)

I need to take photos...I did one with a western theme but haven't done any MGs yet.

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Beautiful blooms Shawna.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Soulja - WOW! Somehow I missed all your posted photos above! Gorgeous blooms!!! Love them all! I can't wait to see something happening with all the MGs I planted recently. Just looking at yours makes me want to see some in real life right NOW!!! :-) And I can't wait to see them planted and growing on all your trellises out in your garden! Just the perfect spot for all of them!

A - That's so funny you are talking about woodburning. I just bought one yesterday to do signs for my gardens. I need to practice a over and over first. I got lucky and got mine for 50% off with a coupon. Otherwise I would've spent $30 for it. I just love a good bargain! LOL!

Mesilla Park, NM

Soulja,
me too, i got so excited I forgot to look a the previous posts. I know one thing.. you will be having lots of flowers from now on those plants, this is just the beginning.

becky, you will love your woodburner, they work wonders when you need just a touch of something!

Kilgore, TX(Zone 8a)

Soulja, love the baby pink one a lot! Beautiful MG's. You're getting me itching for some of my own! But for now, it's nice to look at yours and others. Sigh..... Michelle

Hi guys, Thanks so much! What nice things to hear, especially on my Birthday!!!
and I LOVE the gourd painting (!) gourd.

I've taken most of my big pots of older ones I've been photographing outside for some hardening off, but it might have been too cold last night, not many blooms today. It'll be 80 for at least 3 days here though so they'll like that, but like me, I hope they don't get used to that too soon.

here's that senshu and the blue star showing a bit more pigment, and less square....

Happy Birthday there Soulja! and wishing you many, many more... I like that purple one with spokes, I have yet to get me one of those.

Syrumani, yeah, my Dracula is slow too, so is the White Kikyo Aka Ten Ten,

They do have buds though.

when did you start yours, we may have started them close to the same time. I've got a Blue Kikyo x Fuji Shibori that will open tomorrow. The bud looks purple. I have not started my wedding bells. This week I'll start some more, after I figure out where to put them all.

Whitsett, NC(Zone 8a)

Today is your birthday, Soulja? Happy Birthday!!!

Kilgore, TX(Zone 8a)
