I know with a tomatoe plant, I can bury it deeper when I repot, but how about my purple and pineapple tomatillos? Should I bury them deeper? Why are some leggy seedlings thrown away sometimes. Is it only when they should grow straight up and sort of stiff?
Leggy Seedlings
I suspect you can probably do the same thing with your tomatillos although I'm not sure--you might post in the Seed Germination forum, there have been other discussions there about which seedlings you can do that with.
But if you want to prevent your seedlings from getting leggy in the first place, the key is getting them enough light. One thing that works is to get fluorescent shop lights and make sure they're no more than a couple inches above the tops of the seedlings, and leave them on for 14-16 hrs a day. If you've still got a while before you're going to put these outdoors it wouldn't hurt to get them some extra light now, it won't fix the legginess that's already there but it could stop it from getting even worse.
