Will digging up the tubers eradicate this #?## vine??
Smilax/Greenbriar
It should, eventually. Depeneds how large it is/was when you dug it out.
Those various asparagus vines can be hard to get rid of completely, but if you're persistent at digging up new growth right when you see it, you can do it.
It will help, but every piece left in the ground will send up new vines. The birds also drop seeds under every shrub and tree, so getting it under control is a long term proposition in this area. You really have to keep at it.
I just uncovered one the diameter of a football. I broke the shovel trying to get it out. I guess I need to find a person stronger than myself to give it a try. Thanks for your replies!!!
