I have found out that a hollow coconut shell is useful to scrape the ground and shave the grass/weed with a left-right motion. The semi-globular object fits in my palm and it is very comfortable to grip it. It's pretty hard too and it doesn't break easily unless you hit a stone. Zero cost.
Unusual tool
Sis, but I wonder whether you get coconuts there with its shell intact. Do you? It can also be used as a cup to fill compost to the pots. Coconuts are part of our daily ingredient in our diets here.
dinu,
where are you from? i know that while i was traveling in jamaica, i purcchased a coconut shell. I use it for serving bowl. The jamaicans have and some still use it to carry water, as a drinking and eating vessel. I have also seen them made into small purses.
