Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

What a beautiful sight. I hope to get some Squills going for next year.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Native wildflower. Previously IDed it. I think it's bloodroot.

Dave I love those purplish hellebores.

Hey, Victor do you have a wide shot of your gardens from last year with everything in full bloom???

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

I have some from different times - I would have to look. Of course, not everything blooms at the same time.

Here is Spirea 'Goldflame' getting new foliage.

Well, at least, everything that blooms at the time you took the pic :)

Spring?

Just realized one photo did not come through. Close-up of Goldflame.

Well how about 1 pic of each season. I remember a pic you posted awhile back(don't ask me what thread) and I admired the colors and textures of your garden, you have a true gift.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Here's my front garden, just beginning.
I can't wait for all of these to bloom, but it will be awhile yet. At least the snow has been nice enough to go away.

With the forecast this week, I'll have to take pictures every day for comparison.

Thanks, Jen. I'll try to take some wide ones regularly. I don't have huge masses of bulbs so it's still early for my garden to look impressive as a whole. When the shrubs and trees leaf out, it will look better. This is the first time I will have many Japanese maples so I'm hoping they put on a show.

Congrats, Candyce - it's encouraging, isn't it?!

that goldflame is beautiful!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Yes, Victor. I am very encouraged this year. The snow hasn't left ALL of the garden yet, but it should be all gone by Friday.

Thanks Allison. Wow, that snow is thick, Candyce. Hope that wasn't today.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

No. Not today, but less than a week ago!
Amazing, isn't it?
Just to make it seem more interesting, the week before this photo was taken, I walked across the top of the bath tub there in the photo, all without sinking into the snow, which was level with the top of the tub.

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Wow!

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

It was a very snowy winter, and we broke all the records save one for the season with the most snowfall. We 'have the silver', as the weathermen like to say on TV.

belleville, NJ(Zone 6a)

i like the bloodroot. Is it a bulb?
One clump of my white emperors bloomed today!!!!!
Pictures when i am not too tired to upload them...

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

No. It's a perennial. (I had to check, I never planted it.)

South China, ME(Zone 5a)

Nice photo's Dave & Victor! I'm still waiting but thats nothing new...always the next to the last for blooms.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I always thought Bloodroot was a wild flower. Maybe there are cultivated varieties, Iv seen cultivated Trillium online some where. Googled trillium, see what you get.
How do we post wide shots on DG. I have been cropping everything to a square format.

Southeast, MA(Zone 6b)

Wonderful pics you guys. I am going to be looking for that Goldflame at the nursery later this year. I already had it on the list and your pic confirms it is a good one. I am glad to see the snow is almost gone for you people up north, isn't it the best feeling when that last dirty big hard blob of snow/ice goes away? The plants won't be far behind when the soil warms a bit, things really seem to grow so quickly once they start. It still amazes me every spring that all that life is still there hidden away all winter.

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I remember an old folk song
"god bless the grass,
it comes through the cracks,
they roll the cement over it and try to keep it back"
I put a large flat stone next to the driveway last fall. This spring I noticed yellow crocie comming up around it.
Sure enough when I pulled the stone away there were dozens of blanched coucus trying to find a way to the sun.
In an hour the heads wew vertical and blooming.
love it.Jo Ann
