Hudson sprayer query

North East, MD

My husband bought and used a sprayer two summers ago. He has passed away and I don't know what he used in it. What can I do to clean it and use now ? I understand containers for weed killers, oil applications and fertilizers shouldn't be swapped back and forth.

Several rinses should clean it up good enough to use for anything else. You can also run a soapy solution through it to begin with if you feel like it. Make sure you pump it up and spray through the nozzle too to clean out the hose and wand.

Spray a weedy patch to test the effectiveness of the cleaning if in doubt.

Thanks a lot. With the season starting, I getting the equipment in shape...now, if only I were. I appreciate your information.

You're not alone! I was laughing at myself out in the yard the other day for having to sit down in between small jobs to rest my poor, out-of-shape, 51 yr old body.

Have faith - gardening will get us in better shape!! ;)

Ha, Ha, Ha, the garden sure never got me in any good shape, I had an operation on my back a couple of years ago, get sore knees when I get too cold out in the garden, and when friends call and I look at their lovely manicured long nails, I pull my sleeves down to hide mine, they look like pitch forks with the ends cut off, just had my hair cut short as when the wind blows right off the ocean, I look like I have been dragged through a hedge backwards, so I guess one can only say gardeners come in all shapes and sizes, he, he, he. but we love it. Happy Gardening. WeeNel.
