Finally he found his way to the bottom of the garden where he usually goes over, must have felt pretty proud of himself as he gavehis male cock-cock call.

Very nice shots wallaby! Especially like the first one of the female.

Rockport, TX(Zone 9a)

It's been a while since I chimed in, so just wanted to say great pictures everyone! Dellrose, that Meadowlark was just gorgeous, and Burn love the Sharp-shinned Hawk! That pheasant doesn't even look real!

Just a couple of white-winged doves.

Mrs. Ed, I think Resin has a correct diagnosis..oh gosh, he's a doctor too! LOL

Beautiful pheasants wallaby!

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

I'm glad you posted that Nanny...I was going thru all the posts trying to figure out whose bird had that terrible disease!!LOL!

Elphaba...great pic of the doves...they are so pretty. The Meadowlark thanks you and says he thinks he is gorgeous too!

Went for a walk in our wooded area and saw a Ruby Crowned Kinglet!!! Resin ID'd for me...hope I can go back and get a decent pic of it. Thought I'd drop my teeth when I saw it...so cute and a first for me.

Here is the RCK I also saw in the woods, sorry the pic is so bad!

I wasn't going to post the above but accidently put it on and didn't want to go back and rewrite everything! Anyway I also saw this cute little Tufted Titmouse in the woods.

I was pruning today and this little Red-breasted Nuthatch joined me in the crab apple tree. Patti

I can't get enough of this site! All the pics are fantastic. I love seeing the "common" ones from Dinu. The enthusiasm from everyone is contagious! So here's my first post. He's pretty, but what a chow hound! Mr. Starling:

Thank you all! He is a photogenic subject, I just wish he was closer and the light was better when flapping about.

Yesterday morning I saw the Great Spotted Woodpecker on the peanuts, but as usual it flew before I took pics. It went again to the electricity pole, it's becoming a favourite spot. Of course they skies were dark grey.

Love seeing the Great spotted woodpecker. Thanks, Patti

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Hi Nanegoat, he is pretty, and yes they do hog the food!

I managed a poor shot of the WP as it flew, but considering it was out the window and a long way off with grey skies, well I got it.

Hi Patti! One day I will get a good one, lol.

Marlton, NJ

Hi Patti, Good to see you! Very nice pic!

Nanegoat, Good pic of the Starling!

Elphaba, Very pretty Doves!

wallaby, nice one of the woodpecker!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Ha, That picture makes the bird look as if it could never fly. I am sure you will get a better one, but I don't usually get to see woodpeckers fly in an open space. They always seem to be in flitting between the trees. Thanks for the effort, Patti

Klamath River, CA

While at the shopping center today I spotted these Cedar waxwings.

We can often see the cedar waxwings when they come through in the fall, but not during spring.

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Patti your pic of the Red-breasted Nuthatch hadn't shown up to me before, nice capture!

They do flit between trees, but it had to go across the road, I just caught it as it left the post!

Wow adelbert, a lot of Waxwings there!

Putnam County, IN(Zone 5b)

Wallaby that woodpecker is a very handsome guy!!

Hi Nanegoat! Glad you are here!

Wanted to be sure of my ID of this before I put it up. I had it right so I am making progress in IDing sparrows! lol

Dinu and Wallaby, I enjoyed the Hornbill and the Jackdaws very different, never seen these birds before.
Mrs_Ed, Love the Purple finch shot, what kind of tree is he in?
Glad you found the cause of your headache, Nanny, and love your sparrows, I see Cheerios in the food, are they the ones eating it?
Elphaba, thanks for the comment on the hawk. He was back today. He saw me, and flew off , before I could take a good picture.
Great job on all the posts everyone.
This was from my archive, taken in the middle of March. 2 Black-Capped Chickadees and a Redpoll.

Welcome Nanegoat! Great close-up of the Starling!

Dinu, love seeing the birds from your area. The Hornbill is cool looking. I've seen them only in a Zoo. They are fun to watch.

BBrookrd, I was in your neck of the woods (ocean?) over the weekend and I loved it. I want to go back but will have to wait for another broken airplane. :) Love the Nuthatch.

We finally had a sunny day today! WooHoo!!

Happy Spring!

Hoary Redpoll, today. Hardly any crabapple left on that tree.

Hey Burn. I think that's just a male housefinch. The tree is pretty ordinary too. Just a Silver Maple.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Shan71, Not such a great weekend weather wise, but lots of birds around. And it is a nice bit of sand especially in the winter. But by April, I am ready for some warmth. Patti

Grand-Falls, NB(Zone 4a)

Mrs_Ed, I have a hard time with these birds, but was able to use your pic to compare it with purple finch, thanks for posting it. I didn't know Silver Maple make those kind of flower type thing! I seen them around but never notice that.

Burn, yep that's cheerios in there! I was pouring my bowl while I getting the bird stuff ready and thought what the heck, threw some in there! I think everyone tried some!!

well If it is a purple finch, I would be delighted. But I think they are darker and have that sort of eyebrow.

Yes, those maple buds are pretty cool. Too bad it's not a better tree all around. Still, gives us good shade.

Upper Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 5a)

Great pics everyone!! Eleanor
