Great pics everyone! especially the ones with sun in them!
I had a fantastic weekend on the Island of Nantucket (30 miles off the coast of Cape Cod). It started out as BF having to fix a broken jet at the airport there, and nobody from work could go with him so I got a free vacation out of it. The actual work took only an hour and a half so we had all of sunday free. We wanted to go to the Audubon Sanctuary there but we didn't have a car so it would have been a $50 round trip cab ride. When we mentioned this to someone, they pulled out a local paper and showed us the calendar page and lo and behold they had a Birders walk that met at the high school to carpool all around the Island. JACKPOT! I saw MANY new life list birds!
It was overcast and drizzly so I apologize for the quality of the pics, but I wanted to show them to you.
This Carolina Wren was singing it's heart out. (NEW)

The Pheasants wander around my garden like it's home, this female went under a Spirea and sat there, maybe she's thinking of a nesting spot.
why thanks. I'm still having some focusing issues. I have to get the tripod out. Of course, some sun would help!!
This is the only bird that would sit still ...
Not surprising, the poor thing is suffering from Droopy Neck Disease. This condition is invariably fatal. Other symptoms include the inability to control body temperature, lack of muscular response, and extensive deposition of metal atoms in the body tissue.
;-)
PS I'll be starting the next volume of Daily Pics tomorrow morning (UK time) . . . keep posting here for now, though
