Daily Pics Vol. 90

The Ozarks, MO(Zone 5b)

You all have been very busy posting so many great pics of your birds...we are continuing from here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/830915/#new

The Barn Swallows have arrived and are busy building their nests in the old barn! We have the upper doors open so they can fly in one and go out of the other! They are very amusing to say the least! Here is a pic I took this morning...they are hard to get a pic I think because of their coloring (or it could be me)!

Thank you Pelle and it is always a pleasure to be asked!

These little birds are a hoot to watch...and good grief I forgot how vocal they are...too funny!!

Those are great dellrose! We have the barn swallows here but I rarely see them except in flight. A couple of times we have had them fly into the house though. Kent is real good at quick captures & releases... he's my hero!
here is a hummingbird from today. They just returned a few days ago. I think this is a Black-chinned because of the white spot by his eye. Wish I could get a photo of his purple throat in the sunshine. This one is already guarding the feeder & chasing others away.

Love the Barn Swallow Rose!

Nice Hummer pic angele, the breast feathers look like an extension of the branch.

We had sunshine today, later snow showers with sun at the same time! Dove eyeing me up.

Glad to see the return of the barn swallows. When my Mom mows the lawn they follow her and dive for the bugs she stirs up. I hope to get some pictures of that this year.

Pelle I still have quite a bit of snow, but it's been going down, in the past few days. Will have to make sure, I've got something for the Robins, until they can get to the worms.
Here's a snow pic for you :)

Sybil glad to see I'm not the only one left with snow, I still have the Redpolls also.

Adorable swallows Rose! Menacing look in the sharpie's eye burn, but so regal. Has anyone seen the Baltimore Orioles? I heard they were spotted in my area, so I put out some oranges today. Last year someone knocked the feeder down and licked up all the grape jelly so oranges will have to do.

I visited my uncle in Dover Del. Enjoyed his very busy feeders. Goldfinch and a Purple Finch

Thank you everyone for the nice comments on the Barn Swallows! They are nutty little birds...such characters!

Angele...That is a cute little Hummer...none here yet...I'm waiting not so patiently!

Wallaby...Love your pics especially the dove!

Mrs. Ed...The only pics I've been able to get are when they land on the power line! I wish they would at least perch on a tree or something closer!

OP...Still no Orioles spotted in our area but hoping soon!!

BSharf...What a great birding day you had at your Uncle's...great pics!

Nanny...I wish the Flickers would come to our yard...I've only seen them close by once!

Eastern Phoebe...I left his perch so you could see how dangerous he likes to live!

The Phoebe's are also building a nest in the same barn as the Barn Swallows...so I guess they can co-exist.

We were walking the dogs and DH noticed these Chipping Sparrows on a brush pile. I think I finally have him convinced that brush piles are good things and should not be burned!
