What is it? I bought this plant today. It costs only 99 cents each plant in 4" pot.

Hi beautyreddragon, it looks to me like a Ficus elastica AKA Rubber Plant, Rubber Tree.
They come in a few different colors (Cultivar names), here are the links to a few of them here on Dave's Garden,
I hope this helps.

Yes, I agree, it looks to be Ficus elastica common name: "Rubber Plant". Great price for a 4" pot!

Yes Beauty, it is a rubber plant and looks very healthy, now that it has traveled to your home, let it settle for a couple of weeks, water and feed it as needed, I would think as we are coming into the growing season, give it half strength doze of indoor plant food every second week, dont sit it too close to sun through glass or you will dehydrate the foliage but give it light, keep the foliage misted too as they like humidity around the foliage, after a few weeks, I would re pot it into say a six inch pot with nice fresh compost and water it well, dont let it sit in a saucer of water, so after you water it, after about an hour, tip out the water left in the saucer, good way to tell if your indoor plants need water is by sticking your finger into the soil, if wet, dont water, if dry, it needs water, you will soon get used to it's needs as time passes, good luck and that was a good buy too.
