I have seen a few charts some say zone 4 and others say zone 5 which one am I?
what zone am I
From looking at this very detailed map from BH&G website, I suspect that you're somewhere right on the border between 4b/5a http://images.meredith.com/bhg/pdf/gardening/hardiness/hzm_Wisconsin.pdf You know what county you're in better than I do so if you have the Acrobat reader software on your computer you can take a look and decide for yourself where you fall. The Arbor Day foundation also has a map which has been updated to reflect more recent climate change, so on that map I suspect you would be solidly in zone 5. But the USDA zone map (which is the one on the BH&G website) is still more widely accepted (although they are rumored to be updating theirs as well)
Basically, if you want to play it safe, assume you're in zone 4 and plant accordingly. But if there's something you're dying to try and it's only hardy in zone 5, you may have a chance with it.
i live in fort ann ny what zone am i? also i was wondering whats the fastest way to plant my seeds from my angel trumpet from last year.
Thanks!!
marykay--I think you're also borderline between 4b/5a, here's the map for NY http://images.meredith.com/bhg/pdf/gardening/hardiness/hzm_NewYork.pdf
For your angel trumpet question you might want to start a new thread, since this one was about zones the angel trumpet experts might not even look at it.
